Who is in the 100,000 mile club?
In my 44 years of driving, I have had nothing but Ford products. The highest mileage vehicle was a 1985 short wheel based XLT Lariat, 351W HO with 211,000 miles on it.
A fuel tanker on a Michigan highway in the winter time prevented me from putting any more miles on it.

), so thank you for choosing the blue oval and best of luck with a long term relationship with your new truck!! I've got 184,000 miles on my '99, which dad bought new and later sold to me when he picked up his new '06. He's had the occasional issue or two, but nothing that surprised him or lead him to believe that his truck brand wasn't still the best on the road. He treated her with TLC and sold it to me in January. It runs strong, doesn't rattle, squeak, clunk, or anything. It drives straight at 80mph, and even survived a casual trip to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes just last weekend!!! I've never been more confident in FMC then after driving this truck with the amount of miles it has on it. You know, there are more registered Ford trucks with 250,000 miles on the road today than any other brand!! Built "American" Tough!
all are 4x4
92 F150 I-6 motor E4OD trans, 130,000 miles
91 F250 460, 5 speed, 315,000 miles
01 F350 7.3 turbo, auto 257,000 miles
83 F150 351, auto, 288,000 miles
81 F150 I-6, manual, 178,000 miles
The '92 is still a daily driver as it has the lowest miles, but all will still drive and are licensed.

I have read a lot of posts about how bad these trucks are and was just wondering how many of us are in the 100,000 miles club (160,900 kilometers for those outside the U.S.).
It is generally accepted that 100,000 miles is a measure of a good vehicle. My truck idles steady at 600 rpm and continues to pull hard.

Had her since 1999 only problems was an oil leak at 2000 mile's,turned out I had to get the heads shaved. They were warped.
Also had the torqe converter shudder problem like alot of guys had, drained the rear end and put some motorcraft friction modifier in.
Just changed plugs today, this truck is tight & runs strong.
JOE
well mine has 150,000+ just put in new tranny due to a mistake on the part of the guy i was pullin wasnt real smart.........the dodge 2500 diesel that i took to pick up the 85 f250 diesel i bought wouldnt pull it out of the back yard so had to take in the f150 and was pulling it up hill several miles later and the guy that was steering fer me put it in gear............half ton never let up till the tranny went talked to the tranny shop and they told me that the e4od tranny was more tranny than the 5.0 needed and the torque converter had probably went out along time ago and it just never bothered drivability till workin that hard................anyhow new tranny engine is strong just lookin fer more power just cuz........i race the truck in mud bogs and mud drags the best i ever did in a drag was 8.88 secs in 200' long pit 4' deep on the stock motor tranny and gears with 4" lift and 33" tires...........................................al so have a 88 cougar with 189,000 miles and still makin camaros cry with all the luxuries
