    G’day CO;
    Borrowed a trailer to haul my tractor to clear snow that was blocking driveway. The coupler is a Bulldog 2 5/16. I could not make it completely up a long steep hill,as it had ice under a coating of snow.
    I attempted to back down but fortunately (in retrospect),the left rear tire caught unbroken snow and got stuck in the plowed windrow of snow which acted as a wheel chock.
    The Bulldog coupler was detached and above and 1 inch to the right. I assume there was an upward force on the coupler when contacting the plowed windrow.
    To repeat,this is not my trailer. I insured that the coupler was fully engaged after the initial hook-up ( it had to be, as the mechanism was fully closed/ pinned & set in place properly,as low as it could go on the ball)
    Your comments appreciated . . . The trailer is still up the mountain,as I do not wish to return without the road being sanded first.
    thanks in advance

    Hi C.O.,

    I'm new to buying trailers and I was wondering what brand you suggest for my purposes? I'm looking to convert a trailer into a cold storage unit like in the first two examples here: http://storeitcold.com/coolerconstruction.html

    Any other advice you can recommend when looking to purchase a trailer - what features to get and what things I can go cheap on?
