my 98 has 168,000mi on a 4.6L, doesnt use any oil, no leaks, no engine noise. so far all thats been replaced on the truck in its life time is exhaust manifold bolts, cv shafts (becuase of torsion bars cranked up), u joints, and ball joints. other then that just belts, tune up, and oil changes

I think i found one that can beat all mileage so far!!!!I know of a 98 with the 4.6 that just turned 327,000miles The motor has never been apart with only maintainance of plugs and stuff performed. It is beat and kinda gutless but that is some serious miles!!I'll try to get a pic of the miles sometime.

4.6 is a great engine, I have replaced the spark plugs and wires twice, front brakes (everything) Air Conditioner, and a few little electrical stuff. I don't doubt it that the engine can get to 327k.

My 2000 F150 with 4.6 got to 133000 and was starting to cost me some serious money. Now my 07 has 136 total miles. So far I am really liking it.

What I hate about this thread is my purchases go from the dealer to the dump.

I ain't never gonna get another truck!

My wifes '99 Taurus has 100,000 miles! Does that count?? My '06 only has 8,700 in 17 months of ownership. At this rate, I won't see 100,000 for a while!

168,000 miles

bought my 2000 supercab xlt 2wd in july 05, had 58,000 miles on it, now has 168,000. put a new 4.6 in it @ 163,616 due to blown spark plug. original transmission no rebuild needed yet, i'm sure it will need it soon. other than motor i've only only performed routine maintenance and an iac valve, will be replacing rear axle seals soon and parking brake shoes due to some leaking.
