Who is in the 100,000 mile club?
I'm in the 100k club. I have a 1997 F150 Supercab, and just passed 145k miles. Still running strong...could use a little help on changing the fuel filter if anyone has done it themselves. Just changed out the spark plugs....runs well, everything inside and out looks new....really happy still driving it! Best part....no payments!

My '97 Expedition has 185,000 miles, mostly highway. Sad to say, it is not a success story. I lost a bearing at 85,000 - bought an engine from a junkyard and replaced it - quite an experience.
I've had constant problems with the alignment and steering
The alternator has gone out
I had to replace a head gasket a few months ago - again I had to pull the engine out.
And, now, the vehicle is dead with some mysterious electrical problem I have posted on another board.
All in all, not the best experience in the world - but, I do know alot about pulling out the engine now.

1997 Expedition 4x4 (4.6 liter) - 110,000 miles.
Bought with 20,000 miles 4 years ago. I put 20,000 miles/year avg. since purchase date. Previous owner averaged 5,000 miles/year.
Aside from routine maintenance items, I was told by the dealer that I needed to replace the right side exhaust manifold. So I did. Also, the stem that controls the wipers/blinkers had to be replaced.
Only other problems has been wires arcing. I also had to grease the squeaky pittman (a no cost fix).
All in all, a very good investment and a reliable vehicle. Aside from above, it has been routine maintenance (plugs, filters, fluids, brakes, shocks, tires, battery).
At the 5 year mark I will have put my own 100,000 miles on it. I paid $21,000 for a lease return XLT, adequately appointed. It had been on the road nearly 4 years prior to my purchase.

'97 5.4 Extra Cab 4X4 Lariat, just today clocked 160,000, celebrated with new plugs and COP's, plan to keep it awhile too.
Been through an alternator, front end rebuild (now has zerks !!) brakes and shocks twice, runs better than new, 15 mpg in town, 18 on the road.
I go look at the new ones, and then gladly throw another $500 in this one a couple times a year.

97 f150 - 4.6 - 208,000 miles nothing but regular service. I will tell you a true story that will demonstrate how much confidence I have in my truck. My son is in the service in Cape May New Jersey and I had to drive the truck up there from Atlanta this fall, while up there, the hurricane hit the Pensacola area and my inlaws house was badly damaged. I got home from N.J., loaded tools and supplies etc, and headed for Florida....3,100+ miles in 1 week and would not hesitate to do it again. These trucks are awsome. NEVER any major repairs! I know sooner or later I am going to have a problem but I will fix it with a huge mile on my face.
To see several 4.6L and 5.4L trucks logging close to 300,000 miles is a testament to the hundreds of Ford Motor Company engineers working to keep the F150 the number 1 selling light duty truck.

My 1989 F150 Long Box has 206000 miles on it. We have one big problem with the right hand drives. Its where the Steering box is mounted to the chassic. Its not build the way it is for the left hand drives. And it cracks the chassic and its a real weakness. I have had 4 F's and all of em suffer from that problem. Once they are cracked they kinda wonder around a bit !!!! and it is really hard to keep em going straight. You get the chassic welded and it lasts a while , until it cracks again. Thats the biggest problem we have...

I have a 97 Expedition, other than some dealership issues with it when we bought it. We have 106K on it and aside from the occaisonal maintenance on it and occaisional check engine light, runs great! I think I'll drive it until my tires fall off!
This is an awesome site. Lots of Ford Truck info.

1999 Lariat Supercab 4.6 (bought new in Sep 98) with 116,000 miles. Only 1 issue with the heater airflow door. No problems with anything else. Pull my 4500lb boat where ever I need it to without a tow package. I drive it gently with the confidence that it will be there for me when I need it. I had a '97 reg. cab with the V6 for about 2 years. It was a good truck too.
My father in law has a '95 that has over 200k with all the original hoses and belts.
