I drive my truck. Enjoy.
97' 4.6 with 199,000 miles. Uses about a quart of oil in between oil changes. Other than that, it still runs and drives fine. I just did the Sea Foam treatment everyone is talking about and I think it did pick up a few lost ponies. And to think I was a born and bread Chevy guy before this truck.

New to the forum but have two vehicles to list, my current 97 f150 with just over 156,000 with only one major problem a locked up transfer case. Then there was the one i recentley sold another 97 f150 that had just under 250,000 could feel problems coming on.
First post, my 97 4x4 with 4.6 at 135,000 looks and run like new, it's the bright blue and silver trim and I'm constantly gettin comments on my "new" truck, people are always amazed when they hear the year and mileage. I think 200,000 should be a breeze, Ford did replace the engine at 35,000.
I have had two of the 100K+ club, but wasn't responsible for all the miles on my first one.
I got my Dad's 1981 F-150 when I was in high school. It had 185,000 on it when I sold it. It had the ORIGINAL clutch when I sold it!!!
I just bought a 2002, but my 1995 F-150 XL is still with me. I have 159,000+ on it and plan on selling it soon. Never had a major issue with it. Of course I had to replace the oil pan, because I think EVERY F-150 from 1980-1996 had their's rust out. That was the most taxing job I have had to do on it. Other than that, nothing major has happened to my truck. Whoever buys " Ol' Red" will have many more years of enjoyment.
My Dad has 1 in the 100K(1993, 150K and going) club and one in the 200K(1985, 215K and retired) club.
My brother has one in the 100K (1993, 145K) club.
I will FOREVER own a F-150!!!!

'97 4x4 XLT with 125K
Just found this thread, I am sitting at 125K and going strong.
I am finding out the hard way to never use your personal truck for work, my truck seems to be slipping after a hard summer on road constuction. Alternator seems to be backing out and a rattle at high RPM.
No new truck in sight, I can't afford one until I graduate. THe 200K+ truck out there give me hope, i will drive mine until it is deader than dead.

i wish i could find the guy on ebay that had 97 4.6/5-speed that had 476,000 miles on his. He claimed that the motor/tranny/rear end had never been apart, just serviced and had a few parts replaced (batteries, alternators, pulleys, etc)
My buddy just bought a 97 4.6 with 128,000 on it and the only thing its ever had is a air conditoner compressor clutch. It runs strong has hell.
Mine 98 only got 67,000 on it, so ive gota ways to go

howdy ya' all
'97 Expy XLT 5.4 174,000 16/17MPG and still going like the energizer bunny. I've got a squeek when you turn right or left. Replaced a few steering lins on the sway bar and fixed a hole in the air lift. absolutely flawless after that. Best thing I have ever driven and owned. Did the seafoam thing and it keeps getting better. Have a great day ya' all.
97 F150 5.4L 4x4 Offroad Ext.Cab: 106,000 miles
It hasn't needed a thing....just fluids and brake pads. It doesn't leak or consume any oil. It runs great. I'm not ready to trade it yet, but it will be for another F150 when I do. I wonder what the 2007's will be like?

97 Expy 4.6L 4X4 168002 miles. Going to be parked until I find a replacement motor. Rod bearing is shot and I am affraid to put the rod through the block. Always had the regular maintenance fluids filters and such. Sad day.
Can anyone recomend a replacement motor manufacturer. Is a Haynes manual enough to reference for a motor swap?
Thanks
