So the instructions on that auto rx stuff say to use just regular conventional oil for best results not synthetic. It says you can you a syntec blend, but for BEST results use regular conventional oil. Would this be safe for me to do for just two oil changes 6,000 miles? I want to flush the motor twice with this stuff for maximum results.

TX, if you use AutoRX, follow the instructions explicitly.

Tx, the Auto-Rx has several types of a lanolin ester in the mix and a splash of POE. These esters are pretty much the same as the esters you'd find in a lot of the older PAO synthetic oils. Considering that there are few PAO oils left, that makes it hard to use just the PAO oils for a flush. These esters are also in a more concentrated form than what you would get in a bottle of PAO oil. Frank, the maker of Auto Rx, recommends using Walmart oil for the flush phase. The rinse phase is when the trash comes out. I'd suggest using Pennzoil yellow bottle for the rinse phase but any of the OTC oils will work as long as it isn't synthetic. Don't be surprised if your fuel mileage goes up some.

The water will cause sludging issues. There are also salts in the formulation that will cause corrosion. That would elevate wear metals, especially iron and copper. Depending on the acidity of it, you might also overwhelm the additive package and caustic damage occur. This is not something that anyone with a knowledge of combustion engines would recommend.

Ok fellas. I just picked up my truck this morning and it seems to be running okay. I already picked up 7 qts of Castrol Syntec 5w-20 its a synthetic blend and the auto rx stuff says it should be fine to use for the cleaning. I ordered two bottles of the auto rx should be here friday and I will change my oil on Saturday morning and add a bottle of that stuff. I hope this stuff cleans my motor well and clears those passages that are possibly clogged. Thank you everyone for your advice and help throughout this whole long agonizing process.

Oh and no I did not buy the crappy Fram filter. Advance Auto Parts didn't have any Motorcraft filters so I picked up a Purolater filter instead.
