So now the aftermath of all my troubles with the warranty company. I got a call from the dealer today saying that the warranty company is refusing to pay the remaining $500 dollar balance for the work done on my truck. I had a feeling this would happen. I asked the dealer so what happens now and he said well its the owners responsibility to pay if the warranty company refuses. You better believe I got on the phone real quick with the warranty company and left the head guy there a message saying I will see him in court if this amount of money falls on me. I have yet to hear anything back! My contract states that they are supposed to cover the cash value of my truck at the time of purchase. That amount was about $24,000. I also told the warranty company in my message that I don't care if this ends up costing me more because of court fees. It's the principal of the whole matter and I won't just let them shove me around like they might do to other people.

Hey guys I still have not heard anything from the warranty company. I left them a message saying basically we can do this the easy way (they pay Ford) or the hard way (I take them to court) Is there anything else I can do? Has anyone ever been in a situation like this before? I was thinking I can contact the BBB and also the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

^ you can try it. i had to call the BBB when a car dealership kept my $500 deposit for a truck. they got the truck then called me to come get it and sign the papers. then right before we do the paperwork they realize it doesnt have CA emissions(has to have it to be sold in PA,CA and i think NY) so i went elsewhere, they got me a truck next day. i told them the situation and they said since they got me the wrong truck, they didnt hold up their end so i was out of any agreement. never had to go thru BBB because i paid with my credit card and filed a dispute thru them. IF they couldnt get it back it was BBB time. had the papers ready and everything.

BBB does not always help as they have no enforcement authority. A business can chose to ignore the BBB if they want. It is in their best interest to resolve complaints but they do not have to do so. They can reply to the complaint by saying they did everything possible and customer was still not satisfied.

Well I am definitely not going to let these ********* pull a fast one on me. I will do whatever it takes to make them own up to their contract.

The claims manager from the warranty company finally called me back. He said that they should have caught this before, but technically they didn't have to honor my contract. He said that since Ford is saying the cause for my cam phasers and lifters to go out was the oil filter that the warranty company only covers internal lubricated parts. He said however though that its too late now they already paid a big chunk of the bill, but that he is going to call the dealership about the remainding balance and call me back. He also said that in none of their notes regarding my claim did it show that Ford said I needed a new engine. Ford has told me numerous times that they told the warranty company that. The claims manager at the warranty company seemed really nice. I told him look I don't know who to believe I just want to be done with this whole situation. Oh yeah he also said that Ford cannot pin the remainding balance on me. He said I wasn't the one authorizing any of the repairs and that that's between Ford and the warranty company. Just thought I would give you guys an update on this fiasco. For anyone who has read this entire post please look at what I have gone through and I strongly encourage you to not use Fram oil filters on these trucks.

So now you have just one more fight, - for the remaining $500 balance, if I recall correctly ? I read everything a few days ago.

Someone needs to stomp on Fram hard. For cross referencing their product with OEM replacement parts. Their products fall short of spec. Wait that's not right words (fall short), that's to polite. Their just bad, very bad by design. Damn, still to polite!

Say you use a Fram PCV valve. Their PCV valve out of the box is way to restrictive. So what does that do besides lead to oil consumption ?? Answer= Stresses the system. That little valve is very very important to am engine, -it has to circulate properly or somethings going to give, ie - hose , gaskets or starve internals of lubrication.

Say you run a Fram PCV valve and oil filter. Well the oil filter will feel the stress of the bad valve that's far from spec. Whats going to give here ? The weakest component, = could be that cardboard after the ADBV valve dislodges? - Just a good guess, because that really doesn't need any help failing.

Say you run a Fram PCV valve, Fram oil filter, Fram air filter. The problem with their air filters is that the outer cone can completely fall off the filter without the operator knowing it. So now you have unfiltered air entering your engine.

At one time, long ago it seems, -Fram was a good product. Now they are your engines enemy, many times catastrophically.

In-turn, a users nightmare.

Good Luck TX05F150 , Your not the only one that has been blindsided.

This should be the last update. The claims manager from the warranty company called me and left me a message. He said that he talked to Ford and got an updated invoice with all the charges and they are going to pay for everything. I just need to pay my $100. Thank you everyone for all your help and support throughout this madness. jbrew all I can say is that Fram will never get a penny from me again.

5.4 3v timing jumped??

Have a 2004 F150 with a 2008 5.4 3v, wont idle- P0340- after $400 at ford I stopped , they said plugged up journals- $1000 + to fix- I dont thik so. I think it is a timing chain off 1 tooth on bank 1, ford Hotline concurs possible- I pulled the valve cover- clean as can be- 46k miles- is there a way to check timing alignment w/o pulling the front cover off? or any other suggestions?

Thanks
