I went to the bank to get a withdrawal. I realized when I got home that the teller had given me an extra $80. What would you do?

I called the bank and told them about the error, When I called the lady was totally in shock that I called, and she said that they would have never pinpointed where the money went. They took the money back. I felt good for a week because of that.

We did this for a buddys L that grenaded......dont forget the oil trail on the highway. also buy a new belt for the acc so u can blame the stock pulley being removed for chagning the acc belt. put all stock stuff back on and put tires with most rubber on rear and clean rubber out of fender wells. it also helps to have the truck located in a residential type slow speed high traffic area so excess speed cant be blammed.....

I used the search button buddy and came up with some interesting results. they were that if you use a 6lb lower with no maf upgrade you can peg the meter and it runs lean and blows. also searched and found alot of people running great times with alot more boost with the proper maf upgrades done with no problems at all. whats the diff betweeen running 115+mph at the track in 38 degree weather and what this guy did? these trucks can sustain upwards of 500hp with no problems with the proper upgrades,d o you think this guy was anywhere near 500hp with just a 6lb lwoer? dont think so. if he wasnt tuned right and didnt have a maf upgrade, he pegged it and blew up.

It may be too late for this; but, for future reference, the next time you blow your engine, have a buddy come into the Lightning forum and tell your story. He should also relate what a fine human being you are and how you have been a valuable member of the Lightning community. Then he should offer to help you out and to take up a collection from your Lightning brothers to get you back up and running...

Don't laugh. It's worked before.
If you are referring to Superfords, Why the sore feelings? He was a great member and is still a good guy. I gave money to him cause he would bend over backwards to help anyone on here, and he had some bad luck. I would do it again for certain people on here. Anyone can Ask people to help someone, but not anyone is gonna get it.

Ahh, but if you used that money to buy a shiatzu massager, or something sexy for your wife, you would have felt good for far longer!

Kidding bud! Its good to see people being honest. I have done similar things in the past. Not many truley honest people left in the world.

Not true. Even if the dishonest were eliminated, there would still be the stupid.

And, as is evidenced by this thread, there's enough stupidity in the world to keep us busy for the forseeable future.
Now that is some funny chit!!

This thread went south pretty quick, keep it going fella's, this is great entertainment!!!

As much as we all paid for are trucks you should get a extra engine with it compaired the price of a regular F150. People need to quit B****ing about poor Ford. There is just to many rich people on here that can afford when stuff happens and not to go in dept like the rest of us on our trucks.

If you are in debt because you own a Lightning, you should have either 1) Not purchased a Lightning, or 2) you should have listened to your teacher in high school and paid attention. Hell, even College works for some folks.

I am so tired of hearing people bitching when something goes wrong in their life because they are constantly living beyond their means.....suck it up, and live your life within reason if you can't afford your L.

Also, what "dept" do you go into when something happens to your truck?

They say what goes around comes around, Ford has been screwed by people and has learned how to do it to people very well.

I would not try to screw them this way, doing it to their salesman and loan people is much more fun.

Eight pages of assuming it had to be a mod that caused it.

Seems to me i remember some bone stock trucks have had the same thing happen, does he still not deserve the warranty?

So many internet experts ready to jump down someones throat and tout their own superior knowledge, its an internet forum cant you find something in life worth getting all bent out of shape about other than this crap.

Best wishes to all in this Holiday season.

So you screw Ford salesman and loan people???? and you have fun doing it!!!!

There are some great people on this board. Many that I would enjoy having a beer with some day but after reading some of the posts on this thread, I have the urge to have a shower.

This brings to mind the old saying: "If you want to fly with the eagles, don't hang around with turkeys".

I still believe that we have far more of the former rather than the latter.

I just read through several pages of this and I'm surprised the thread is still open. The guy modded his engine and it blew up - nothing new here. All you do here is suck it up, learn something if you can - and get another engine or maybe don't do it again. Trying to to stiff Ford Motor Company for it is wrong. I just can't imagine anybody in the middle 60's who put twin - 4's on their 327 Chevys - and when they let loose, which was pretty common - going back to GM and expecting a warranty to cover it. Or even trying to put all the stock parts back on it to try and scam them. When I was younger, and that was a lot a years ago, if you modified an engine you knew you were taking your chances and if it let loose - such is life and we all knew it. I saw many a car go up in smoke the first time down the strip. If you didn't have any money, you just saved up till you got some and rebuilt it better the next time - not a big deal and nothing to really think about - but you didn't fault the company for modifying their engine. If you didn't like their engine design, your next one was somebody elses.

PS: Many years ago I had plastic cover on my hot water tank in my house somehow catch fire. Fortunately it burned itself out and didn't do any real damage, but smoke filled several rooms and when I had the insurnace adjuster out he agreed to have the tank replaced and the rooms repainted and cut me check for it. I called a local contractor and they did all the work, but their bill was much less than what they insurance company had paid me - so I took the difference bewteen what the contractor had charged me and what the insurnace company had paid me - and gave it it back to the insurance company. The adjuster almost fall off his chair when I gave him the money - said that had never happened to him before, ha, ha.

At least OD1010 was smart enough to cut and run. He posted once and saw it was not going the way he hoped.

Tim,
You crack me up. You hit many nails on the head.

Like buying a engine you ****ing moron. Not everyone has $6000 laying around. I guess we have a bunch of internet tuff guys around here. It is pretty funny how people just talk about other people when they don't know **** about even there own truck. I work on Lightnings all of the time and help alot of people out that don't have the money to spend to get some stuff fixed on there trucks. It is all about helping people out. Disintegr8or whoever the **** you are you don't know ship about people and there needs. It is not living beyond their means if something bad happens to someone and they have to come up with a big hunk of money to fix something. Just last year before christmas a guy who I never meet before blew and engine up. He just found out that he was getting laid off and had a baby on the way. He was able to come up with enough money to buy a used engine from a friend. I took his engine out and put the other engine in for him free of charge cause he was having a bad time. That is what it is all about. So Disintegr8or don't talk Sh** to someone you don't know. :santa:
