Normal person - ”What the hell did those 5 paragraphs state?”
Lawyer – ”It basically just states if you modify your vehicle your screwed…” “That will be $500 please”

I agree that this is the status quo. But the landscape is changing rapidly. Law schools are now teaching students to write in plain English. The trend is definitely catching on.
Just this year, California rewrote its jury instructions from 18th Century lawerspeak to plain English. So far, so good.
While there will always be a need for terms of art (like "habeas corpus" or "res ipsa"), those who continue use legalese are either old and lazy or lack confidence in their own intelligence, or both. They hide behind words that no one else can understand so that the reader will impressed with them.
My job as a litigator is to pursuade the listener, not impress him with my vocabulary or knowledge of the secret lawyer code. That means writing and speaking in plain English - the more concise, the better. I only want people to be impressed with my clarity.
Have faith. We are coming around.
BTW, most consumer contracts are completely understandable. They are just (necessarily) thick. If you take the time to carefully read a contract and think about it, it usually makes sense.
Statutes . . . well, that's another story.

Another anology. So people that suggest OD1010 return his truck to stock in an attemt to get a free motor out of Ford also think it's ok for people to get welfare? It's ok to pump out a couple kids so that they don't have to work, right? It's ok that people on welfare get most of their rent paid, most of their food paid for, their health care paid for yet still somehow are able to drive a blinged out Lexus and have a 60" flat screen in their section 8 houseing?
How about the people that get SSI disability? It's ok that they get a check every month because they have been "injured" and "can't" work, yet are seen doing jobs that an injured person shouldn't be able to do?
So, it's ok to cheat Ford because they are a big, looming corporation? That makes it ok to cheat the government too, right? The government may not be a corporation but because it's funded by the tax payers, there seems to be an endless supply of money. What's the big deal if ten thousand people cheat the government out of millions of dollars a year? We continue to pay our taxes, right?
I don't understand why people don't get it. We all pay when someone cheats.
Attn: vendors
All vendors take note of the losers out there that don't know right from wrong. If they think it's ok to screw Ford they'll think it's ok to screw you. Q: Why not just steal a motor out of a car sitting on the lot? A: Because you want to screw Ford out of the labor too.
Tim Skelton. you're the first lawyer I even considered liking.
Pain is nature's way of telling you you're stupid. Poverty is the economy's way of telling you you're stupid.

and a free post. Only 1,169 more and I become#3
I will add this, I knew dam well the second I touched my truck (@ 2 wks old) I had no wrrnty from that point on. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I did know I was on my own. However I still do need to remind people that A LOT of stock L's also spit rods, and the law states Ford is SUPPOSE to prove the mods caused the problem, Ford on the other hand automatically voids the wrrnty if someone uses aftermarket air, and that is NOT always fair.
OD1010 if you end up being on your own, as said you may want to talk to Sal,
he has a few things that might interest you.

Yep...I installed a monster box at 4000 miles. Sold the new one for 1200 bucks and darned near payed for the MB Greg sold me for 1350 bucks...yep...1350 bucks...LOL. Do the math on it assbackwardsmoron...150 bucks for a built tranny...that I am still running on.
I am actually quite proud of that move. Maybe someday I will tell you how to end up with a built motor installed with only 5000 out of pocket. But you probably can't afford 5K... Somebody stole 3500 bucks of your massive mechanics pension...
.
I think I will see if I can throw some business their way. Sticking it to a guy like you??? They can't be all bad.

I don't know if the guy that started this thread has even posted on it again. I bet he was overwelmed by the show of support and found himself speachless
.There are actually several stock motors that show up in the, "for sale forums" now and again. Assbackwardsmoron(azblackmonsoon) had one for sell not long ago. He could use the money, his rent is almost due again.
