AirLift

Hi,
I have a 2010 Plat 4X4, lowered with bell-tech adjust front struts and rear DJM Flip. It ends up as a 2/4. I am thinking about installing AirLift rear bags to level the rear when towing. Anyone have a similar setup that can send or post some pictures? I read the install instructions for the SlamAir kit but I am intrested in pics of the rear axle, so I can see how you installed them on the Ford axle. Thanks in advance.

Lance

If I remember right you said you had 2" drop shackles. Measure the distance from the top of your shackles to the bottum of the bed. Tranfer that measurement to you shackle hanger nimus 1/8". should be about an 1 1/4Grind off the rivets that hold on your hangers and measure down on the hanger 1 1/4" on center and drill new holes then bolt back on useing 1/2 or 3/8 grade 8.8 hardware (I can't remember the hole size) bolt back on and reinstall shackle. Done and you don't have to spend 150.00 bucks on B.S. hangers just hardware @ about 5.00 bucks. You have to grind of the rivet to install the new hanger and with this mod you don't have to by the hanger and pocket the money... The top of the shackle will be as close to the bed as possible. after this if you want to go lower you will need leaf springs or a flip kit. I did this to mine and has been that way for a very long time with no problems.

why would i need to drill new holes when they are allreaddy there thats why im asking why would anyone need to buy new hangers when the stock hangers have 2 lower holes that can be used with the 2 middle holes to raise the hange 4" and there is 4" from the top of the hanger to the bed floor! no cuting no drilling only grid the rivots and new bolts is all you need to get the hangers raised 4"

Thats the money shot right there. Grind off the rivets and get 8.8 hardware to bolt the hanger back on. money saved and now your truck will be alot lower.

2012 4x4 STX

I'm wanting to do ether a 2/3 or 3/5 drop on my truck. I'm looking at a few different wheel and tire setups. I'm wanting a 22x9.5 wheel with anywhere from 38mm offset with 6.73" bs to 30mm offset and 6.41" bs. My question is will I be able to run a 305/45r22 with a wheel in that range or maybe a 305/40? And also will the 3/5 drop change my options very much from the 2/3 drop?

Thanks for any advice,
Trent

If i get these i will have them powder coated gloss black

I've got the Roush suspension kit on mine. Its a reported 2/3 drop , but I added the Roush Nighmare drop shackles to the rear. On the first hole I believe it adds anoth 1.5" 's of drop. so Im at 2/4.5 and I run the 22" H.D. wheels with a 305/45/22's. I have no issues with rubbing, I can go lower, but I tow a boat a couple times a year, so I like a slight rake.

Bump for the cool thread.

Read back thru this, and i'm gathering that you can gain 3-4 inches from stock keys? And that by "flipping" the torsion bars, or the keys? I'm going to be dropping my 4x4 for sure now, and just trying to figure how im going to do the front.

I believe you just take out the torsion bars and flip them 180 front to back will be back to front and trade out left to right to right to left......

That is what I gathered from reading it

10-4 on that coobies look back at the pics I posted in this thread. Now I'm just trying to fab a upper control arm relocating bracket cause I can gain another inch or so if I do and still have proper alignment. Any body running lightning size tires? I might go to a lower profile next time around.

There's drop leafs, or flip kit. I'd do the drop leafs, but either remove the gas tank or cut the bolt to get em off...
