Forget the exact build date (mid june 2000 maybe), but i noticed the fluid half gone this past weekend @ 9500 miles. and the dealer said they can't even get me into the shop for 2 weeks. maybe it'll blow and i'll get a whole new engine...riiiiiiiight

The numbers below I havent updated, will do that after work.

**********************
That makes 45 Lightnings with atleast one intercooler leak out of 75 Lightnings.

45/75 = 60% of lightnings listed have this problem. It is ongoing, and so is the list.

Percentage of those that had problems with less than 20k miles on the odometer = 40 out of 45

40/45 = 88%

Average number of miles before intercooler leak = 14.5k miles
(583.54/40)

Average mileage of Lightnings that are not experiencing intercooler leaks = 11.23k miles
(269.676/24)

Percentage of Lightning owners that experienced problems before 30k miles = 100%

1 member has a new motor, and another is on his 3rd intercooler. Of those that have had their intercoolers replaced a few of them reported that the second one was leaking.

Zorprime, is your second leaking slowly, at 1500 miles?

I noticed the other thread, and thought it warranted to bring this one to the top! Also Blue Oval news told one of our memebers the intercoler report would be up today, well its not, but heres a link to the front page, www.blueovalnews.com

Mine started leaking right after 10,000 miles, I now have 12,000 and it seems to be leaking faster now.

22k miles on my 99L, #944, assembled 05/05/99. IC started leaking last month. Without the outstanding info passing thru this forum, I wouldn't have paid much attention to the seriousness of the problem. Took the L to the dealer here in VA Beach today and will have a new IC installed and be back on the road Friday the 16th. Will pay much closer IC attention from now on.

Lightning owners:
Below is a link to the results submitted by many of you to BlueOvalNews. I wanted to publish this yesterday; however, I had a run in with a trial lawyer. . . .

Haven't taken it to the dealer to confirm it yet but it looks like you can add me the the list, 20,000 miles, #2337 built on 6/14/99.

In the process of interviewing dealerships to see who is the most competent to deal with this.

Thought I was going to be the lucky one but should have known better. Its a sad day.
