a local distributer didn't even know it existed till i showed him the post....here is his response.

"I stand corrected. I’m not familiar with them because they are new. I know the diesel programmers are great. I’ve sold several of them and guys love them. A little too much, a lot of tires being sold as well. There are plenty of them in stock and they sell for $392.65.

Mick"

is there tech support for those of us not knowing anything? i would really hate to have it running to lean. any of the beta testers notice any engine temp increases or read the plugs to make sure not to lean? any cel's yet?
is there any reason to worry about the factory warranty by using this product? thanks guys!!!

I'm running out to reprogram mine right now, to get the update. I can't wait. I love level 3! I can't imagine it getting better.

Alright, so I just filled up my tank after my first run on #3 extreme mode. WTF?

Pre chip mpg = 11.076
Post chip in extreme mode mpg = 11.589

Granted that's not a huge difference but how is it that I'm getting better gas mileage AND more horsepower? This thing rocks!

I was reading the Group Purchases thread and we have to post there and contact the webmaster regarding this. I'm at work for another 2 hours and can't use email (technically I can't post here either but...) so if someone else wants to email him that'd be great, or if no one responds I'll do it when I get home.
Thanks.

dang i really want to order this thing right now, but im scared for my truck What about running too Lean? It just seems that we dont have enough information on the tuning. It makes me worry that something about it is unsafe, how could they tune over 40HP safely while Troyer can only make 40HP?

JB or ASEmechanic,
How about a little info for us paranoid folks out there that this thing isnt going to Nukdify our engine. Warrenty issues and what not. So far you have me sold on the thing but I to am a little weary of the reprocutions of this add on. Please feed us the info and I am SOLD ASAP.

I'd like to hear troyer's views on this. I would assume they would be reliability related, but come on, it's Edge. When I get my troyer, I'll see if I can get the funds together and purchase an Edge programmer to review. I'd like to have some help on paying for it, and if I in fact receive some help I can guarantee I'll thoroughly review the two. Obviously, this is further down the road but if anyone is willing to throw in $20 or something to help me help you, I'd be more than willing. I would pay for the entire Xcal2 unit, but would need help with Edge's. Let me know.

I wouldnt mind hearing Troyers views as long as it is objective. No one is denying that he is on top of his game but I am not made of money and the thought of this little doodad giving good results in a engine safe format for 100 less than the Xcal2, with all the other functions it has is very inviting to me. I have seen the results on the diesel trucks since 1998 on a powerstroke with out a single problem so they must be doing something right with there engineers and programmers. I like the idea of some competition amongst the ranks. It usually promotes better more reliable products and service. Every one needs to make there own decisions based on there needs and wants, I dont need a quarter mile truck, I do need a good reliable truck that is fun to drive and gives me high smile performance. This little doohicky seems like a good choice for the gadget types and people that want a more powerful truck, nevermind the gas milage results that were posted. Nice job on that by the way, helped me make my mind up!!!!!!

Josiah,
That's what I like hear. One truck, no (or little) variables, both tuners. Unfortunately I don't have the bank to donate to something like that.

I think you're refering to my post, and if so, I'm glad to hear it. So far I am VERY impressed with this unit. And I like how I can go in and with a few button pushes, adjust the WOT or shifting or whatever I want. But what amazes me the most is how I can have such a huge performance increase, and get the same to better gas mileage. Oh well, it's not my job to understand it, it's my job to have fun with it!!! ;-)

any final word on the group discount? i have my wife resigned to the fact that i want one. i have not had my questions answered though concerning anyone monitering the engine temp etc and reading plugs to make sure it is not to lean. also when installing it, can you use it to moniter the a/f and engine and tranny temps in the stock mode so they can be compared to the different stages of perfomance and towing etc....? thanks guys, and gals! LOL
