New Edge Programmer / attitude monitor
Can any of the Beta guys tell me what perameters this thing can display. I know it will do four at a time but I would like to see all the different perameters. I thought I saw that this thingy could moniter gas mileage, I am getting more and more excited about this funky little doodad by the minute. How about some pics of this thing with the different screens. Man I cant wait untill this thing comes out
I had emailed realtruck.com (before 04NickySP2, sorry, forgot to mention :o ) about a group buy discount and he came back with this reply:
"One they are available, contact me at the toll free number below with the quanity you would like to purchase.....I will give you a GREAT price on them."
So if you guys can get me a list of who all is *definately* going to buy one on the 21st I can put this together for you.

Who else who already has this wants to donate some money for a good cause and go to a dyno for some stock vs Edge numbers?

Edge gains are 42HP with 87 octane (what RPM range here?)
TP gains are 40HP with 93 octane (supposeably in the lower RPM range)
So an Edge programmer will put out more HP for cheaper costing gas, but at what RPMs? Can we see some dyno plots of this?

"FEATURES:
- 3 separate programs to suit all driving conditions
- The Evolution automatically makes a backup of your stock program before proceeding to add a new program so you can easily program back to stock at any time
TRANSMISSION ONLY - This is the lowest level setting and will not provide any engine performance increases but will provide firmer transmission shifts and help to increase the life of the transmission.
TOW PERFORMANCE - This program not only provides better transmission shifting, but will also modify the ignition timing and fuel injection strategies to improve performance.
HIGH PERFORMANCE - This is the highest setting for the Evolution. The fuel injection and ignition timing strategies are aggressively tuned to extract the maximum performance for your vehicle without sacrificing driveability or durability. The transmission strategy is modified to take advantage of the increased engine performance by providing quicker, firmer shifts.
- Up to an additional 12% HP gains
- Up to 15% gains in FT pounds of torque
- Adjusts speed and rev limiter & Improves throttle response
- Adjusts for tire size and gear ratio
- Displays and clears trouble codes with full code description Not only can you view and fix trouble codes your vehicle may be displaying, but you can also turn off that annoying Check Engine light when the problem has been addressed
- Displays 0-60 and quarter mile times
- 10 minute installation, No tools required"
I'm not trying to dispute what ASEMechaninic is saying, I'm just pointing out that the vendors dont advertise any increases in anything other than transmission longevity w/ 87 octane. Unless all three tunes are made to run on 87 octane?

Hmm, interesting information. I does look like the last tune option is the only one that gains and those gains DO NOT look better than TP Xcal2. 12% of 240 RWHP is 28.8 HP gains.
With no mention of specific gains and only eluding to gains at the one tune, then not saying what octane gas is used; are all very negative qualities.
To this point it still looks like TP custom XCal 2 tunes are still better performers with a 93 Octane tune getting you up to 40 more HP.

Mileage results
The mileage results are finally in with the new Edge®. I ran two full tanks with stock programming, and two tanks on level two, and two tanks on level three. I skipped level one because all it does is adjust the shifts and i figured it would be very close to stock. Here are the results. I do a lot of freeway driving because i live quite a distance from where i work. The results are quite impressive.
LEVEL............MILES DRIVEN............GALLONS...........MPG
STOCK.................437.2......................2 7.85...............15.7
STOCK.................467.8......................2 9.06...............16.1
LEVEL 2...............510.1......................25.89.. ..............19.7
LEVEL 2...............491.9......................23.88.. ..............20.6
LEVEL 3...............471.8......................25.78.. ..............18.3
LEVEL 3...............450.7......................25.32.. ..............17.8
Trust me i triple checked each result because i found it hard to believe myself.

3: 91 octane
but you can go in and make your own custome tune if you want as well, example: level three tune made to run on 87 octane, or 93 octane, whichever you want.
