Dear Kobi,

I had a dream last night that I was at work in nothing more than my underwear. While I understand that this is a commmon dream for some, this was the first time for me. I also understand that most who have this dream find them selfs very embarased, everyone is laughing at them and try to cover up. This is where my dream differed. I worked as ussuall, I knew all I had on was my underwear yet knew there was nothing that I could do about it. So I went about my business taking care of things as ussual. I was self conscious, people staring and giving strange looks, but some how I was not embarrased.

This concerns me because, if dreams are a glimpse into our subconscious. Then this would mean that I am overly self confident, and feel that it doesnt matter what I do, I can work thru it. Or it could just mean that I have nothing to hide.

Should I be concerned? Or is there another possiable deeper message my subconscious is trying to tell me that I am not seeing.

Dear Mag -

No worries dude. It's all good in your case, and you have nothing to worry about.

Dreams about being in your underwear (or being naked) can mean any number of things and often it depends on what is going on in your life at the time.

We could be more specific about the interpretation if we knew about current events in your life, but since we don't really care (well, OK, I care, but not that much) I will go with the more generalized meanings of the naked dream.

Where was I? Oh yeah. Dreaming of being naked (or in one's underwear) while at work or in public is quite common. Usually it has to do with issues of shame or feeling vulnerable. Maybe you have a secret, or maybe there is something going on in your life that you don't want others to know about but you fear that you're not hiding it very well and that the world can see what it is you're trying to hide. It could also mean you feel vulnerable and defenseless, maybe you fear something, that something will hurt you. Maybe there is something in your future that you are uncertain about and you have some fear about it, or do not feel you are ready to face whatever it is, that you feel unprepared.

The thing that you mention that is most important is this:

This is where my dream differed. I worked as ussuall, I knew all I had on was my underwear yet knew there was nothing that I could do about it. So I went about my business taking care of things as ussual. I was self conscious, people staring and giving strange looks, but some how I was not embarrased.
You are saying a lot here. Often times people have a very difficult time dealing with the fact that they are not in control. However, you seem to understand that there are certain things outside of your control and that it is best not to be anxious about, or fight over, your lack of control, and that it is better to just go with the flow and do what you need to do. This shows wisdom. You also mention that you are not embarrassed. This further exemplifies that you are comfortable with whatever it is that is happening in your life right now, that you are sure of yourself and your actions.

If I had to guess, and really that's all that psych is (Freud would say this has something to do with sexual repression or some such crap, but Freud was an idiot who tried to pawn off his sexual dysfunction on everyone else) . . anyway, if I had to guess, I'd say there is something going on in your life right now that you have already made a decision about and you waver at times whether you made the right decision, or you're trying to decide if you should take some kind of action and change the course of things (take control). I think that this dream is telling you that deep down you know you are making, or are about to make, the right decision and that it's all good.

Stay the course and all will be well.

Or not. I could totally be wrong about all of this and you are just some weirdo dreaming about working in your underwear.

Whatever.

If you need real answers I suggest you crack open a can of Steven Seagal's Lightning Bolt Energy Drink (to acquire enough energy to reach an advanced level of consciousness) and then ask yourself "W.W.S.S.D.?" (What would Steven Seagal Do?

Dear Kobi,

This past July 4th weekend I was off for 4 consecutive days. I typically would go home and see my parents for a few days. I live in Texas and they live in Louisiana, about a 6 hour drive home. But in this instance, I told my mother that I would have to work the Monday before the 4th when in fact I was off. The reason is I have relatives other than my parents that I don't like to visit very often. Though I like visiting my parents, the relatives would want me to come over when I would otherwise go play golf, etc. I feel that in this instance that I made the right decision even though I had to lie to my mom. My mother doesnt know that I was off and I am feeling guilty. Does this make me a bad person?

Thanks Kobi,

I can't think of anything going on right now, major or minor. Unless something is coming up that I am not fully consciously aware of. So guess we'll have to go with the wierdo that dreams about working in his under wear.

Yea I tried one of those Red Bull "liquid pixi sticks" (That is exactly what it tasted like too) any way I tried that energy drink for the first time last week. Thank god I tasted a friends, we ended up throwing that nasty thing out with two sips gone. One from her and one from myself. It was so nasty! Think I'll keep my energy level high the natural way, a good diet with lots of physical activity.

Mag -

I only mentioned Steven Segal's drink in reference to a thread I posted earlier:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=245694

There is a link in my initial post that you should read. Very funny.

Glad there are no stressful things going on right now. If only all of us were so lucky.

Carry on then. I guess the big question now is were they boxers or briefs?

(Actually, don't tell us. We don't really want to know. I was thinking " . . . wouldn't it be fun to stir up old Clinton memories?" (Remember the old MTV interview) Bad idea.)

Dear Kobi,

Upon reading threads as of late talking about iPods, iTunes, iLife, iFords... I decided to checkout the iTunes store. Everything looks great, except for one thing... I can only get crappy **** AAC files? Why no option to download in Lossless format?!! It's 2000 freakin' 7!! Gobs of bandwidth and storage is out there and I can't get lossless? It's a sad, sad day in the world of audio.

PS - I got my amp and line-out cable. Headphones should arrive in a couple days. I can't wait.

Dear dzervit -

I'm bolting from work but should be home in about 45 mins or so. I can address your query then.

In the meantime, can you define "lossless"? You don't mention a specific file format.

I remain, true to the cause of audio enjoyment (McIntosh rocks!!!)

Dear dzervit,

It's a government conspiracy just as foretold in the prophecy.

This is what happens when only two people out of 5.5 billion control how you are allowed to process information for the masses.

Please pay no attention to what I just said.

Thank you.

No rush friend, I'm off to bed to enjoy my amp... I snatched my boss's Sennheisers to listen to for the evening. Also took his silver/copper hybrid line out cable to compare to my all copper cable... I think I'm not right in the head.

I'm talking about the Apple Lossless format.
