I use to be the same way, until a few months ago and I upgraded my super elcheapo 6 year old cables, to moderatly elcheapo cables. I couldn't belive the difference it made! Everything from the increased richness of both the quality of the sound reproduction not to mention the frequency enhacments just the over all fullnes that I didn't realize I was missing.

Now I must spend some more to try some slightly better ones and see what happenes. Before I knwo it I'm going to have $20K in cables laying around.

Well don't forget PSS you can go over board on them. You don't want to sink $1,000 in cable into a $2,000 amp/speaker setup. Your general rule of thumb is 10-15% of your setup should be in cables. I was more in the 5% range when I got started, and its time to unleash the beast in my big daddy Denon and Overture 3 speakers. I am happy with my sub cable to the B&W, as it was about 50% of the 5%...

That wont work for me, one it's not a high end system and two mine has come from trading and bartering and frankenstien parts I've had laying around and everything else. Total money I have in the system minus the cables is probably about $5 for the reciver. I'm not kidding either. My wife happened to be at the right place at exactly the right time and practically stole it.

If you added the value up total, minus cables, yard sale price it's probably about $1000 maybe.

from someone who, only minutes before, wrote that he has just spent 400% the purchase price of his iPod to make said iPod sound better .

*shakes head in disbelief*

(Pointing out to Kobi™ what he just dropped on a McAmp is out of bounds)

While kobi™ could lie and say that he has a memory that makes memory experts shake with fear, the fact of the matter is that Kobi just happened to open the page your entry was on by chance while going thru some of the posts after this thread was brought back from the dead. Then, when you happened to post your query, and it just so happened to match your old one . . . it was pure coincidence. What's really cool though is that it was almost one year to the day!

Dear Stealth -

Even more disturbing is that someone actually thought of making such a thing. If some schmuck hadn't invented the damn thing, no one would be eating it! I mean, honestly, who comes up with this stuff?!?!?!?!

Oh well, since it has been invented - as it were - then yes, I agree with your question/statement . . . who the hell would eat such a thing indeed!!!!???!!!

It's a disturbing sight, and to get past the trauma of seeing it and then proceeding to eat it causes me to believe that such a person is disturbed.

Kobi has to go sit down for a few minutes, away from his computer to recover from reading and seeing this . . . this . . . whatever it is.

Many thanks, Mr. Kobi. I felt the same, a bit queasy at the thought as well as the sight of it.

And answer it I will (although it's not a better question).

It wasn't until my mid 30s or so that I did not appreciate a good dill pickle. Until then I was never fond of them and felt as you do. SO I can understand your reasoning behind this question, however, I must inform you, that to ask such a question demonstrates that you have not had a GOOD dill pickle.

There are not many places that offer them, but there are a handful of delis that do. (and even then it's rather hit or miss).

So, any time you're in a good deli (there are not many of those either), take a bite of one of the dells that comes with your sandwich. One of these times you're gonna get a real gem . . . then you will understand.

By the way, a pickle is always best AFTER a great sandwich. Have a really good pastrami with mustard, and afterward, take a bite of a dill, and wow . . . just great!

And here I thought it was the usual Kobe fantasy land babble. Good one, I was waiting for Hervé Villechaize to pop out of his grave and say his famous line.

I love pickles and relish and other forms of prepared Cucumber.

Have you ever had a fried Pickle?
Spectacular!!!

Now as far as trying a kool-ickle, doesnt sound great, but does spark my interest. I have a 1/2 empty jar in the fridge I may make some to try. As the old saying goes, I won't knock it till I try it.

During typing this I thought of another item that might make for an intersting combined taste sensation along the same lines..... I'm off to the store to empty thier shelf of pickles!!!
