Dear Stealth -
Syntax is an amazing area of study and fun too. For example, your sentence can be taken to mean that people are somehow forced to spell the word "incorrectly". Not that that means anything but it made me laugh.
But I digress. I know what you mean, and I also know that the inability to spell is not something that people are forced into (although it would certainly seem that way). No, no, Kobi understands that you are expressing exasperation with people’s lack of spelling acumen. Not only is it an exhibition of a lack of intelligence, it’s also a demonstration that people are lazy. The whole internet thing has contributed to this greatly. In such arenas as forums (like this one) people write off the top of their heads and quickly hit “send” without the slightest interest if what they wrote was grammatically correct or that it contains a plethora of spelling errors so egregious that it would make an English Professor wither in pain. You can see such displays of disinterest in one’s presentation of self more often than not on this forum. Such a pity that so many have such low self-esteem.
So it goes.

Dear Kobi,
I am going on vacation tommorow and in the past i have noticed some of the other associates i work with will bring back a gift for the boss. My question is do boss's actually appreciate this gesture and if so are there any rules i need to follow?
Thanks in advance,

Kobiashi,
As you may or may not know, I have a Nintendo Wii. It's a family toy that we all seem to enjoy. I really like the commercials. They crack me up.
Anyway, I really dig the little "Wii car" that is in the commercials. I think they are called "smart cars" or something? Do you know what kind of car that is, and how would one go about purchasing one?
Here's a little picture:

The answer to your questions depend on a number of variables. Without getting into an untold number of permutations, I will try to keep it simple. For the most part I would say it is not appropriate, unless you already have an established relationship with your boss . . . in other words you are friends outside of work, and in that case if you were to give him/her a gift you need not do it at work. So, in the workplace, friends or not, no gifts is my recommendation.
If I was your boss (or the boss of your associates) and I didn't know you in any manner other than you were part of my staff, and you came bearing gifts, I would think you were a suck-up or trying to get something. Do other bosses appreciate it? Maybe those that require bribes.
So I say keep work at work, no gifts for bosses, or others for that matter. But that's just me.
Hope that helps.

Although that is funny as hell, from looking at the pics of the smart car, it looks like the occupants sit so low that their heads are right at about, oh, my bumper height...
Wait....I just found some videos.....
