Stick stock antenna in vise, pull of old ball on top. Notice antenna is thinner at top versus the bottom. Now go to the bench grinder and basically cut it to length. Now shape the end of the (now wider) base just to where the little ball barely will hammer on. Once the top of the newly cut base is just larger than the ball opening put the newly cut antenna in the vise, place the ball on top, and lightly tap the ball on where it presses on. Touch it up with some black paint and you're good to go! I also went the extra mile and mixed up a tick of jb weld and kind of molded the ball onto the top then painted over. It looks OEM and costed nothing but ten minutes of my time! Good luck!
I'm gonna do this! How tall did you cut?

Darren when are you going to take off the old man steps. Makes me think you're in 60s or 70s.

Thanks man. They are XD Monster 778s in 20"x9" +18 offset, 5.71" backspace.

With the Toyo tires side lugs, they are just a half inch past the OEM fenders. They stuck out more on my old XLT which did not have fender flares.

Old pic of the backspacing.

I have no intention on removing them unless I am replacing them. I don't want black step bars as I feel it will look too blacked out. I wanted the OEM Harley bars but they are basically only for looks. I use mine to retain the great shape of my front seats. I thought of the 4" rectangular FX4 step bars chromed but I don't know. I like the 5" bars, but I agree they do have a bit too much of chrome. I thought about chromed N-fabs, but would it look tacky?

Same reason I have my steps, to not squash the leather. No to the chrome n-fabs. I liked the way they looked on shanks12 truck, but he had chrome everything. Plus are they chrome or polished steel? Chrome will be hard to maintain

Black N-fabs wouldn't look good on mine imo, but I don't know. Its just I don't want to go too black. I'm not trying to be a black out. The 4" FX4 steps would probably be the ticket. Smaller in thickness, and a fully black step pad the length of the steps.

Yup. Those are the ones I have and are perfect combo, Mine are not even chrome theyre more of a polished stainless look. Looks like the harley skirt but extruded to function as a step sorta.

Let me ask you hows the weathertech mat holding up for the rear? I only have fronts and for the rear I'm running cheapy autozone mats

Hmmmmm. Finestyle, would you be interested in a set of 5" oval step bars? .

The rear weathertech mat is alright, for me up here in PA with some country side I am happy to have it for the mud up here, nothing else gets muddy inside. I have had a couple of spills on it too and my carpet never got touched. It is inconvenient to remove but I vaccume it before any removal anyways,

Added some stick-on glossy B-pillar covers from PillarCover's of eBay last week. Much better looking. Went from flat & ugly/sore thumb standing out,

I changed my mirrors out with the ones I bought from Lakemarykid a little bit back, sanded mine smooth and prepped them for painting. Invested a good 5hrs into sanding and prep work. I dropped them off for painting Thurs the 4th in the evening with a note stating to get to them when he can. Sometime this week I imagine I will get them back, can't wait!

I also ordered some 3M Color Stable 5% tint for my front doors to replace the metalized Llumar I put on. I am just not happy with the over-shined look it gave me and will not be until it is removed and re-done. Color Stable series is guaranteed to be as black in color as factory privacy glass. We shall see. Stay tuned later this week!
