What do yall mean "efans"? Electric fans in front of the condenser?
Will be doing this mod on my truck with just the valve...Don't really care how it looks I want some cold air...IDK what everybody is talking about heater core rot..Ain't doubting it really but most of our John Deere tractors have this valve set up (factory) and the heater cores are fine in them...Never thought about doing this mod on a truck until reading this...

The stock AC system on my '10 XLT F150 blows 38* air.

Ford had plenty of years to figure what they did wrong on the '04-up (NB) so by '10 they had the sweating natives back under control. Even the guy who finished last in his class still has to eat, so Ford hired him to engineer the A/C system for the (NB) trucks. Sound right? Otherwise he'd be along the freeway off ramp with a cardboard sign.

Is this process able to be reversed?

My '77 F150 which has factory AC and Heater has just such a heater control valve, it's vacume operated.

Thumbs up

I must say .... after reading through here .... we just finished one hot summer and seems that some of y'all have problems. We too have had some triple digits, but the AC on my '07 Scab will run you out of the cab in just a few minuites. I mean, that thing cools!

I always roll windows down when getting into a hot vehicle and run AC on normal for awhile until I get rid of heat and noxious fumes from plastics, etc. Then I roll up windows and as she cools, switch to Max and cut fan back.

"(up until the 1997 model year)" part must also exclude '73-'79 with factory AC ....

My '77 came with heater only, I scrounged stuff from two scrapped PUs ... a '73 and a '79 CC to convert it to factory AC / Heat in 1987 and I bought new evaporator and condenser coils and recvr drier. Still works, still cool (never was "cold"), and the original 1973 heater core is still a no leak deal (the '79 core showed air bubbles with 15 psi on it in water, the '73 core didn't).

Well I have had a 2010 and now a 2013 and they both suck in the A/C department. They are the worst I have ever seen in terms of a/c performance. I have a 1990 crown vic that blows 38 degree air on a 105 degree day. Why can't they do it now?

Only real problem I have with my 05 Scab is on long drives with decent humidity, it acts like the coil is freezing up and there is reduced airflow. As in set on high but blows like it is on low. Stop for gas, have a BIG puddle of water under the truck, and get back in to a tornado until I reach over and turn the fan back down.

2010 motorcraft e fans cooled my ac right down. Had the truck for 2 years prior to installing them. The ac performance is the main reason I installed them.

The 38* temperature is measured with the thermometer inside of one of the center AC outlets with the unit on Max in my 2010 XLT Screw.

"Stop for gas, have a BIG puddle of water under the truck" ...means it's really humid. Come on down to Bama-Lama and it'll be the same.
