If this is the case, just make sure you are covered ( in writing ) if something does go wrong and is traced back to the "adopted" intake.

And hope it isn't major.....

I'd be interested in testing on depends on how much I'll have to pay in order to test it but it comes free for X-amount of days for testing that'd be even better.

Not asking anyone to buy anything. I'm asking how many are considering picking up one of the first run for whatever purpose so I can tell HPS how many people on message boards are hot to trot so they can make enough in the first run to handle the demand.

I'll have dyno results on my motor in a couple weeks if everything lines up. I'll post a graph as soon as I have it.

Tarajerame: We'll continue our previous email conversation.

Why don't you get some results for this intake and then start asking who is interested. Is seems like you guys are asking people to commit to buying this intake without any facts about it at all.

100,000 people might consider it, but if you don't give them any facts about it ( most importantly price ) those same people have the option to back out.

i think he's wanting $$$$ so he can finish the first intake, and yeah it's hard to get genuine interest without showing results, which is why I'm interested in testing the intake so I can post results for everyone

Guys... before you jump all over my azz read the words that I write. NOBODY IS COMMITTING TO ANYTHING. which part is unclear? It's hard to produce enough and not too much without having some idea of how many is enough. Did I ask you to put money down? No! Did I ask you to provide detailed contact info? No. All I asked was who's seriously considering being in the front of the line.

Tarajerame... you and I will continue our discussion via email. Please limit our discussion of testing to that mechanism.

Seriously considering being in the front of the line for what? Buy it? Test it? Eat it? The problem is WE ARE reading what you are writing.

Are you guys looking for people to test it because by what you are writing, it sounds like you want people to email HPS and let them know they want so HPS know's how many to make. ( or what is your definition of "adopters" and "pick one up" in this case? )

If you need people to help test them, come right out and ask. If not, it sounds like you are trying to get people to "commit" to buying one so HPS knows how many they are going to sell.

I am about to invent a gizmo that will increase HP. I haven't tested it yet but how many of you are interested so I can tell how many to make? I'll take ten of them. But when I find out that you want $1500.00 for each of them you can stick....... Or when I find out that they increase my engine HP by 20% at 8000 rpm, where I don't want it to be, you can stick..... Or when I find out that they drop my 2000 rpm torque by 30% at part throttle you can stick......
WTF is wrong with you? Give us enough credit for realizing that you are a fool. With out supporting documentation you don't stand a chance of drumming up any commitment. Have them build you one of them and stick it on your truck then go and dyno it. Make sure you are able to lock the tranny in 3rd gear and make 3 pulls at WOT. Then make 3 pulls at part throttle then post the results. Be specially sure that you dyno, on the same day, with your stock set up. 20 hp gains on a different day don't mean squat. So there you go. As far as I am concerned put up or shut up.

This person does not understand that trying to get a market going in any way, on this board or any other board is not the way to go about it.
He doesnot yet realize all the various positions people will take for and against such efforts and falls into defending a ghost.
Make the parts, do long term testing, then make a limited market pitch when the parts are proven and ready to go; then ask people to consider purchuse if it's a gain they feel is worth the asking price.
Otherwise it's just an amateur approch to marketing.
I'm not interested in such parts but watch what happens when people try this.
There was another device that was poorly handled on this board and the problems it has, lingers to this day and leaves a lot of poor image. Was rushed to dealer market and I can imagine the fun times the vendor has with it and the customer.

I agree with the everyone here and it looks like most of us will not be able to afford it anyway. Still no price right??

Just thinking though if it flowed that much more air you would need a custom tune right??

I just need to give bob a guess of how many need to be in the first run.
I'll take 1,000 then. Seeing as how we are not committing but are just interested in the product. But wait... now you are hoping that we will "plan to pick one up as soon as they're available"... but then "again, [we] are not committing to anything"....

can someone say
