Lets just agree that there is no point attacking each other over a product that isn't even finished and tested yet.
Norm, its called frustration. I'm so goddamned sick of having to repeat the same things over and over that it got me....

Please let me know with an email to cburnss at gmail dawt com or by reply to this thread if you plan to pick one up as soon as they're available. Again, you are not committing to anything. I just need to give bob a guess of how many need to be in the first run."
SMIGGS, I went overboard and overly personal, my apologies. I'll also give you that you pulled that term from an earlier post, I can see that, but the key phrase there is "you are not committing to anything". That being said, your replies and the way you type them always come off as a twisted version of things, so instead of having any kind of productive back and forth its always having to go back and rehash things that have been clearly stated before. For instance, I post "my truck isn't ideal for testing" and you come back with "since you don't want to test it on your truck...". I didn't say that! You always put some twist on things.... I would LOVE to get one on my truck, but in the interest of getting the best test results for the most people a better candidate should be found. Thats something people aren't getting, I'm not shilling for HPS, I'm arguing that there is a need for a better intake manifold regardless of who is making it. Since there is such a pent up demand for results, I want to see meaningful results. If I was trying to pump up a particular company and wanted big results I would throw it on a truck with ported heads, cams, full exhaust, etc... and the results would be quite good. They wouldn't mean crap to the average guy who doesn't have heads and cams, but hey we'd all see a nice, fat number on the screen.... I've probably come off as defensive towards HPS, but thats just a biproduct of defending the concept in general, and a reaction to all the negativity over something I really felt people should be a little more pumped about. This is a major engine component where there have previously been no options, not another cold air kit... I do, however, have a lot of respect for HPS because its a small company sticking their necks out to produce something for enthusiasts, and anyone with knowledge of such parts knows its extremely expensive to bring such a complex casting to market. I give them all kinds of credit for that. That doesn't mean I have any ties to them though, if TFS or someone came out with another 5.4 intake and it worked better I would use that one.

I just can't understand this attitude.....if you had to use one simple adapter plate to bolt something cool onto your truck....so what!!??? There are exactly ZERO aftermarket 5.4 intakes for a street truck (not counting fabbed sheetmetal intakes), and should soon be one, but if you would discount something over such a simple reason and are happy with your inlet pipe and cat-back more power to ya....I'm interested in going well beyond that and I guess I made a bad assumption that there would be a lot of others that were too.....my mistake....

Well, there probably would be MANY people interested in this, IF, the sales pitch wasnt so shotty!

I don't see why anyone is defending a product that they dont even know works to an advantage or not. That makes absolutely no sense.

I guess after everyone buys this product, it will end up sitting on the shelf with the tornados and the TB spacer plates.

It's all good. I guess this is a lesson as to having to make my posts more clear as to take the asumption aspect out of them.

Let's just all agree that we want to see this freakin' intake tested and then the world can go on......

By the way, I don't get offended very easily.

5 July 2008

just to update everyone:

the intake is still not completed, it is still in the works and I will post pictures as soon as one hits my door...

I'm having Bob install the coolant crossover so that will be the only non standard item on it (it will be an available option from HPS)

Are you going to remove the 2nd serpentine belt when you test it so the N/A crowd can see if it is worth while?

How do you plan to get it installed? Are you really in Germany as your profile says?

they were supposed to be available in January 2008 but some snags occured and delayed the production.

I am getting one for a discount price so I can test it, both N/A and with forced induction and I will be doing a lenghty write-up

r3dn3ck started this thread and he got me interested in this intake for the 5.4 the hardball'r 4.6 intake is becoming popular with the mustang crowd, since this thread had died off I wanted to just give those interested in the intake a heads up/update

I will PM/email everyone who has shown interest once I have the intake in hand and then I will start a thread with the install and tests

Thanks for the update. I'm currently building a 5.4 and really would like to put a aluminum performance intake on over a non performance plastic one

Thanks for the info Jerame. Could you take pics of the stock intake ports next to the new ones. The shape of the ports seems a bit off on the new one.
