I'm a consumer... every intake I personally test is one that I've purchased at retail. If someone wants to loan me a copy of whatever intake is in your link (nothing comes up... the domain seems to be down right now) I'll gladly test it. It's just dyno time to me (albeit at 125 bucks an hour).

It's not "my" intake... it's HPS's. I just happen to talk to them a lot about 5.4 mustang projects so I got early notice. I know they can apply various finishes. the limit is probably up to your budget and imagination. I'm painting my own, black on top and white on bottom.

Update: My motor is installed. Should have numbers from the 4.6 intake from HPS in the next couple weeks. The 5.4 intake is proceeding as planned.

UPDATE:

Bob @ HPS is looking around new-years for the launch of the new 5.4 2v intake for mustangs. He'll be adding an elbow for truck owners as soon as possible so you guys can use it without converting to a complete mustang top side. There will be more custom bits and modifications needed to use it in a truck but it shouldn't be much.

We're looking for people that are interested in being early adopters to speak up now so Bob will know how many to make. Please let me know with an email to cburnss at gmail dawt com or by reply to this thread if you plan to pick one up as soon as they're available. Again, you are not committing to anything. I just need to give bob a guess of how many need to be in the first run.

In other news, for you mustang owners: Bob and I are working with a large aftermarket exhaust manufacturer to get a set of long tube headers made specifically for the 5.4 2v mustang swap. We've (5.4L mustang guys) seen increases of as much as 30rwhp from longtubes (on a cammed, ported head motor that was otherwise pretty tame). Don't know when they'll hit the market but this company does their R&D and production at the same place and is known for being Johnny-on-the-spot with the new parts.

Huh? Am I missing something here?

So you are asking people to test them, free of charge, for you guys?

Until I see truck numbers I ain't buying anything. This isn't a Mustang site. If he can produce a complete TRUCK ready kit with some performance specs then I might be interested.

So if I understand your posts, you want us to pay for an untested intake manifold. Show me the Mustang results and then I will decide.

I'm with Norm. The truck intakes with the long runners are what give us the extra torque we need - lose the torque and what's the point of spending the money?
