Talking 100,000 mile club

I have a 1997 F250 LIGHT DUTY which pretty much is a F150. It has 198,000 miles but runs very well, needs brakes but other than that it runs like a champ.

Well, I'm sold !!! Until I read all the replies, I was worried about buying a 2000 F150 4x4 with 124,000 on it. The dealer "says" it's almost all interstate miles. It runs great, no rust, no apparent problems. He's asking $10K I'm trying to get him to $9200. Should I buy it??

Talking Anyone with less than 200,000 is a lightweight

My 99 XLT just turned over 290,000 last week. In fact I bought it in June of 1999.

I have the K&N FIPK. ACCEL wires and coil packs. Those are the only major mods.

I've used synthetic since 36,000 miles. Religiously change the oil, transmission and rear end fluids. It doesn't smoke, gets good mileage and still has good power.

Lots of my miles have been highway miles but about 95% have been within the state of Tennessee.

The only major repairs have been a new alternator and control arms on the front end.

Oh there's a few glitches. The odometer fades in and out and for some reason I can't get my driver's side airbag light to go off. But I would still drive it daily if it wasn't for the 1991 Towncar I bought last year that only had 89,000 on it. Looking for about 300,000 on it too.

133,546 miles, complete new front suspension, both driveshafts, all the coils, alternator, complete brakes twice. This is the worst truck I have every owned. It was great until 100,000 miles then all hell broke.

100,000 mile club?

Back in '84 I bought a Ranger, (I didn't know any better then), but none the less it served me well for over 20 yrs. I sold it a few months ago with 397,000 miles on it. So now I've gone from a '84 to a full size '04, what a difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!

100,900 miles is still new then?

I bought my 1998 F150 Supercab 4.6 from a pastor of a church, the truck was maintained throughout it's whole life (I got all service records with the truck). The truck came with a shell and a bedrug and after taking a peek under the rug, it was virgin factory paint without a scratch! The car passed a CA smog test with flying colors and it runs excellent! The paint is a bit oxidized from sitting in a church parking lot but the body is perfect. From what I have read, if I can go 200k+ miles, I have a brand new truck practically!

Picked up my '97 F-150 a year ago June. It had 99,990 on the odometer when I drove it off the used car lot.
Has around 102,000 on it now. That rascal runs well and the inside and out is in great shape.
I'll report back when I hit the 200k mark

Have a great day.
Bob

Going Strong

I have a 99 5.4 Supercab 4x2 with 151,000 on it with only fluid changes and still going strong. I have a friend with a 97 5.4 Supercab 4x2 with 325,000 and only fluid changes. He bought a 2004 but likes driving the 98 on a daily basis.

RE:100,000 mile club

I've got 156,000 miles so far. Has not left me stranded. Minor maintenance to date; I've had two coils(COP) go out so far, 2nd one failed last week. Have had to replace the DPFE, IAC and am on my 2nd rear window seal. Had the plugs replaced at 112,000.

112K wonderful miles, but misfire began at 112,001!

I am the original owner of my 97 F150 Supercab 4.6L with over 112,000 miles on it. The check engine light was always on, but it always ran fine...light finally burned out! I have really enjoyed owning this truck and would buy it again. I am currently frustrated by a cyl. 4 misfire that is still there even after Ford replaced the plugs and wires, but like I said it has ran great until now - I love my F150!

100k Club

I have a 94 F150 with 167k and still running strong. I would like to rebuild the engine or put a High Performace one in it. Does anybody have any helpful hints?

Turned it over yesterday

Shed a tear, yet still mighty proud of the beast. 2002 2wd 4.6. Runs stronger today than the day I drove it off of the lot.
