150,000 miles, runs great, still idles as brand new, I just had to change the battery and a couple of sensors, regular fluid changes, and spark plugs, it does not consumes any oil at all, just last year we went on vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, and we put over 2,000 miles on my truck in one week, the truck performance was outstanding, that 4.6 Triton engine has still a lot of miles to go!

1997 f-150 4x4 atx with 150K
One set of spark plugs and front break pads.
Looks and drives like new.
Lots of recalls, but nothing serious.

Next report at 300k :-)

I was reading these posts and decided to chime in.

I have a '99 SC 4.6V8 w/ 152k on it. Here's what I did in the last year:
1. Changed plugs/wires/coils
2. Replaced front brake pads (Hawk pads = awesome)
3. Replaced TPS sensor (had low voltage output of 3.5)
4. Replaced both upstream O2 sensors (w/ Bosch ones)
5. Transmission rebuild
6. Replaced air filter (K & N)
7. Cleaned TB and MAF sensor
8. Tires (Bridgestone H/L's = sweet ride and handling)
and last year:
1. Wheel bearings
2. Spindle and rotors (scored them b/c of toasted wheel brngs)
3. Altenator
4. Battery
5. Fixed leaking rear slider

It feels like I have been pouring $$ into it just to keep it running. Having said that, my truck looks and runs great and I plan to keep it another year or two. I have been happy with my Ford and would definitely buy another one. All the work mentioned above came after 140k. Before that it ran flawlessly every day.

97 F150 XLT 4x4

No major engine stuff, just ball joints u-joints wheel bearings and all that. This truck is driven hard. I go WOT at least 5 times a day and 4x4 regularly. 850 mile trip from FL to VA about 10 times a year. This baby is at home in both VA mountains and FL sugar-sand

I think i'll go for 300k!

1997 F150XLT supercab, 184,000 kms. Just bought used from original owner. He has a tranny shop and only updated the accumulators in the tranny. I did a tune up, not knowing when the last one was done. Scrapped my '80 with 428,000 kms. Sold my '89 with 422,000 kms, still ran awesome, but the body falling off of it ! Love the Triton, really honks !!!

100,000 Mile Club

I have a '97 Lariat xtra cab long bed 4x4 with 159,000 miles on it.
still running the original factory plugs, exhaust and shocks. Replaced two coils an altanator, the drive belt and the battery. Replaced the upper and lower ball joints (probably had something to do with those 36" x 12.5" tires! ). The best thing about the truck, it's paid for! Runs as good as it did the day I bought it!
