Did my install tonight and frankly I was disappointed. The lelectrical hook up part was a no brainer thianks to the other posts, but I was really underwhelmed by the fit against the dash. I did the grind job on the bottom until the rib is gone, but it still hits the ashtray. At this point, if I knew how to take out the ashtray from the dash I think I would complete my trimming on it. The part that bothers me the most is where it buts up to the dash. I did the zip tie thing, and that secured the front of it to the dsh, but the rear of the thing needs to come WAY up to get it even close to getting the foam to contour against the dash. THe instructions showed some adjustable feet and brackets, but all mine had was a couple large black L brackets. Even if I use them in the front, it will raise the front of the unit way off the floor. Am I missing something here?

I had the same thing happen regarding the sub fitting close to the dash, until I found the little adjustable feet in the bag :-) The feet make all the difference when fitting to the dash. If yours didn't come with feet, you may try a hardware store ... they are just threaded bolts with two nuts that fit thru the small silver brackets on the front of the sub. Then, make sure your zip ties are tight!

Regarding the ashtray, I was able to completly dremel off the rib on the underside and the sub fits fine. Might be a slight difference in interior dimensions? Anyway, the sub has to be placed far enough to the left that the glovebox will open and far enough to the right that the ashtray will open. It is a tight fit.

Hope this helps.

I, too, dremel'd off the bottom rib. That will make it fit MUCH nicer... also, I put the feet in such that the would have the MAXIMUM depth such that they would hold the sub closer to the dash. I have no problems opening/closing the cupholder.

Wow... this one was dug up from the depths.... again, really nice 'HOW TO' Reel.

I still LOVE my camo sub. No one even realizes that it's aftermarket... hehehehe

Bummer Went to Crutch's site and that particular sub is no longer available. Any help on where I might be able to still find this sub. I've done numerous searches and no luck.

After doing a little searching on ebay, I'm not seeing one at the moment either.

I did find one with google though...

http://www.mmxpress.com/clarion/stealthboxes.htm

$300 (really over priced) It shows it as a 'Ranger' box but, I really think that's the same one I have.

I think I'd hold out and watch ebay before I spent $300... Plus, if you have the Medium Parchment interior like mine, the color doesn't match and you'll have to paint it. Most have used paint from www.paintscratch.com .

Thanks for lookin RP, I'm gonna do just that and wait for bit too see if one pops up on ebay. I have the light gray interior so i think the stock color would work ok.
