Lightning vs syclone/typhoon??
well, typhoon cladding body style is by its ground effects, and those are from 1992. and as for somthing classy, its all personal style, personally i think, that if think your lighting is classy you must also think eating at the old country buffet is your idea of a 5 star eating. when i think class, i dont think pickups are there yet, but the lincoln blackwood is real nice, but how many people are going to buy it? want class, get a navigator, yukon denali, caddy escalade, and all the other high priced SUVs. BTW your right on the 20 in rims being ghetto, do you think i can get these rims for my truck?
RobBlack, its ok to try to put down the best lookin SUV,s such as the Limited and the durango, its too bad that all of fords suvsare ugly piles of *****, the explorer expedition and that ugly a$$ excursion are all UGLY...The limited has class and is faster than any ford suv you could dream of, so if you even think about bad mouthing it, you need to get your eyes checked, you wanna see a rotting amish buggy, take a look at your truck, good example.
{Rant ON}Children children, put your toy guns and your school yard name calling away and go to a frickin track and let times talk. You all are SUPPOSED to be "ethusiasts" a aficionado, buff, devotee, habitué, hound, lover, votary of sports vehicles. Ford Lightning IS THE fastest and quickest production truck NOW. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not in 5 months, but right now it is. Your trucks aren't in production anymore! And if you want to sit here and say, well my truck is still faster than yours, and blah blah blah. There is a Lightning on this board with TWO superchargers, beat that. There is another Lightning runnning 11's. And if you can beat it, FINE, congrats! But don't be childish about it. THIS IS A BOARD FOR F-150 LIGHTNING OWNERS, you aren't always going to agree with our views. Hell, some of us don't even agree with each others views. Be MEN about this stuff (with the exception of Christy and Kristy {and any other female L owner}).

p.s. This isn't aimed at all of you L, Dakota, or Sy/Ty owners, just the ones that can't get over the fact that there is ALWAYS something faster, quickest, or whatever.{Rant OFF}

Oh my...
13.2...are we supposed to be shaking in our combat boots?
0-60 in 4.3...did you use a REAL 5th wheel to test this or the infamous (and inaccurate) G-tech pro? Doesn't matter. I'm not flaming anyone for using the device, so just take it FWIW.
You guys with other makes of trucks must be _really_ bored. That's all I can figure. Most L owners haven't been slamming any of the Sy/Ty trucks. They are cool trucks (see my 1st post for my own opinion on page 1 of this silly thread). There are so many darn arguments to both sides of the equation. I think it is a neat concept to put an awesome engine/driveline in a compact truck. Ford never chose to do that. I can only imagine what the new L engine would do in a Ford Ranger. High-12s stock, and probably low-12s with $500. But, they aren't going to make that, so it really doesn't matter.
Point is, comparing them is an excercise in futility. Each side will argue til its blue in the face, and never convince the other side it is wrong.
There are Gen 1 Lightnings running low-8s. And they are _race_ vehicles. So, what is my point? I don't have one. Just more useless information to process.
As far as SUV's go...should've seen the look on 2 Durango owners faces when they stopped and stared at me for minutes on end at a stoplight the other day when I was in my wife's Expy. Doesn't look much like an Expy, though.
Why did I get one of these? Because it fits the needs of my family much better than a Durango which is just too small. Who cares what it runs in the 1/4 mile. I have 3 other vehicles that can handle that.

Coolva,
You're way too polite to these guys...hehehe. Personally, I dont think there is anything worse than making fun of someone else's vehicle because its slower than yours. Everyone has different things that are important to them in a vehicle...cost is one of those, too. Not everyone on the planet can get credit approval for a $35,000 loan. Not everyone cares about a well rounded vehicle either...I see modded out LS1 Camaro's in the mid 12's and I think, "how stupid...sure, they're faster, but they're still in a camaro!" But then I have to remind myself that camaro owners couldn't give a ***** about ergonomics, quiet comfort, or good handling. They just dont care! and they are happy as pigs in ***** with thier ultra fast, piece of crap car, strapped to a fast engine. They dont even care that they are 1 of 45,000 instead of 1 of 4000. Exclusivity just aint a factor for them. I hope that Dodge Dakota owners love thier trucks as much as us Lightning and Sy/Ty owners, because there is nothing better than loving your vehicle.
I know Coolva, and no, his truck probably isnt' as fast as mine...but so what.
He's a nice guy who loves his truck. What us Lightning owners need to keep in mind is that the Dakota R/T is not a performance vehicle...its a trim package. And the fact that they are able to get that much performance out of them is very commendable, I think.

I guess WaitAndBleed, does not know the meaning of "PRODUCTION" as in being made NOW. NOT 10 YEARS AGO. The L is the fastest PRODUCTION truck right now.
In simple terms for you: the fastest truck being made currently, today, now!!!!!
Got it now?? or do you need more explanation?
