i'm "only" 44, and when we started driving, gas at Tenneco was .249 a gl., a buck and you were set for the night.
Remember in high school a friend's parents were celebrating paying off their 30yr mortgage, 67.00/mo, they still live there, house is now in 100K to 150K range

member...member sling shots? member shooting the neighbors cat with a marble. Member shooting straight up an wondering where the marble would come down? member ball bearings? you could put one in your sling shot and kill stuff... like blue jays. Member you could make better ones yourself than you could buy in the store. We used rubber strips from a car innertube, leather from the tongue of a shoe, and a forked branch from a china berry tree? member red rubber innertubes? they were the best.

sling shots were awesome

BABolt, where in the hell did you get that??
What a hoot that picture is!

My old man's car was silver with obscenely red leather and deep, deep pile carpeting. Looked a little like a pimp-mobile. The rear end of the car was totally unique to that model. Dual exhausts built into the big chrome, wrap-around, flush bumper. And, see the fin in the back? The first day my old man had the car I walked into the fin and had a bruise that must have lasted six months.

Another photo for you.

The photos are from a car show on the grounds of Ford Engineering (7/23/99). This Cadillac was a real beauty. I wish that I would have take more photos of it.

On the subject of old cars, I'll soon be the proud owner of a mint-condition Studebaker GT Hawke, circa 1962. The only problem with it is the transmission. I plan to get a complete overhaul of the drive train, and possibly a studebaker supercharger, I beleive they were one of the first to turbo charge/ supercharge their cars. Its a sweet ride, golden
