Chrysler was rounding up some guys called "corinthians", and apparently they were wealthy too, or somethin. used those guys to make labarons and other hi-class interiors.

I forgot about the corinthians! They are all gone too! I member them....they thought they were better than all the others out there. They thought they were really special with their special colors and I member that they said they were richer than everyone else....well we know what happened to them, don't we?

Yeah those Lebarons, they sure are keepers. I've got one in my apt parking spet. 88 model. No plates, dooesn't run right, barely starts, it has arthwritis, it can't spell arthwritis, its a convertable though, with a top that does not close, has a big hole on top, door dings all over the place, I can go on and on. I wonder how many people actually owned this thing. 199,696 miles. Temp car until I get to Seatle to get my Lightning next Sat!
Yeah I know where those Carintians went, too bad they didn't take this lebaron with 'em!

BBQ & Flats Man -

Being the history buff that I am (and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), I believe the First Corinthians were used to make the Labarons interior. The Second Corinthians were used to make the now forgotten Chrysler Cordoba. The Second Corinthians actually got their names from all the second mortgages they had to take out on their houses because they were not as rich as the First Corinthians. This made for a much less desirable interior and ironically the Cordoba became a second class car.

those 2nd corinthians were cool, they weren't stuck up like the 1st dudes. it's like having an older brother or somethin, and he thinks he's all that or somethin, 2nd corinthians ruled!!!, even if they went chapter 7 and ended with a used aspen or "Volaree" ooooooo!! or somethin, while their gd brother, i mean, "1st corinthian's", drove off in his brand new 600SELC "Princess Diana Death mobile". oh oh oh, know whats sweet? when first corinthians ( i think mom liked him best) try to race 2nd corinthians to mom's house. first corinthians faces get beet red

Member when I used to be a mainstream Lightning board member or something? With the influx of new owners, I suddenly feel real old.

only 2 things come to mind, that might help you thru this,my friend. buy that ricer on "hey sixpipes" thread, and we start calling you "twelvepipes" or, wear that mask, while riding the valk to work. either idea will make you seem much younger than your years.

Doug -

I guess if I was "mainstream", I wouldn't have bought the Lightning to start with, huh?

BBQ -

What mask?

ok, ya fooled me with those humanlike ears, just kinda clashes with the "Gomer Breath" zipper and the nuclear chin blackhead. i'm sure you still caught your share of beads even though you refused to mask for Mardi Gras

The one thing I dont get about the feeling old part is how these relatively young people can afford a lightning. When I was in my 20's I wasnt paying $600 for rent let alone for a car payment......

I remember when gas was $.14 a gallon, lake pipes or blewy pipes as we called them, vanillia cokes. IsIs Theather in Ft. Worth only had to pay a dime to watch movies all day.

B-36s and the flying Wing flew over the house often when lived in Ft. Worth.

Neighbor where we spent many hours working on hot rods all the time.....

The good times...

Wow, I had almost forgotten this topic. It was a fun thread there for a while.

I agree about feeling either older or left behind as all the 00 owners get there Bolts and start posting. We had to struggle to get info/ideas/responses, and they have more than they can read now. Hope we are helping them.
Member, member, member when there were no chips, no filters, no exhaust systems, no bed covers/lids etc. Boy, I sure do.

As to owners ages, probably a few got them as gifts, but a lot of those younger guys seem to have some very good jobs and are buying them on their own. God love 'em.
I was married at age 20 and had three kids by age 24 and it was a loooong time before I could get a decent car.
