That is useful and makes the Lightning the ONLY TRUE performance TRUCK.

The SRT-10 is a performance vehicle but useless as a TRUCK, therefore it is NOT a performance truck, but performance vehicle…
I never said the Lightning wasn't useful.

I just made a point that pretty much any performance vehicle on this scale (Vettes, Firebirds, Vipers, Porche, SRT10, whatever) is inherently not useful or practical. That's not why most people buy these types of vehicles. In fact, I have never NOT owned a performance vehicle of some type, but the reason I bought them was not because I wanted them to be practical and get 25 mpg, have low insurance, and be able to carry more than one passenger. I wanted to have fun with them. I look at the Lightning as a high performance truck with the added bonus that I can tow or load up the bed at Home Depot sometimes. If I wanted to work out of it, then I would buy an F350 or something. Since Ford advertises the L to be able to tow or haul, then some people buy it for that and that's fine. That is just my perspective. But to trash the SRT10 because it is not practical isn't right IMO.

If this guy ran a 12.9, then . As for all of the problems the SRT10 is having, every first model year or two have some kind of problems. My Vette was a third model year '00 and had issues. Look at the Lightning and do a search on all of the issues people complained about a few years ago (and still do). I'm not trying to argue with you or go to the "other side". Just trying to keep an open mind.

Boy, you need to do some homework.
Lets see, Upgrade the Crank and connecting rods, get lower compression pistons, computer programming headache. A decent rebuild on the engine will set you back about $5k. computer programming? a ton of money.

NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT?
I've seen 2 liter hondas with a turbo put out some impressive numbers.
no replacement eh?
how about turbo, supercharger, nitrous.

you boy, are an idiot, and the more you spew from your mouth the more we think you are an idiot.

MY OFFER STILL STANDS!

PUT UP OR SHUT THE HELL UP.

I need a winter beater and the srt-10 will be perfect for that job.
Your ignorant like i was saying, yeah 4 bangers can put out impressive numbers but do they put those in drag racers, no they put 600c.i.+ hemi v-8's usually , why, because the big engine can put out the MOST impressive numbers

really?

I always thought that hp/Cubic Inch was impressive.

Food for thought...
Explain a Rotorary engine such as the one used in the RX-7, RX-8?

1 liter putting out over 300hp.

but then again there is no replacement for displacement, silly boy, go home.

SRT-10 Ram 4.8 13.19 @ 107.07
with 650-lb load 5.4 13.68 @ 102.69

Wow so i can put 650lbs of whatever I want in the bed and still be as fast as a stock lightning.......awesome performance TRUCK

http://www.motortrend.com/oftheyear/...t/index11.html
motor trend ran 13.8 on a stock lightning

I ran
220 Band ----------------------- 1.956, 13.157 @ 104.29 (04,SBlue)
with my stock lightning.
http://www.nloc.net/forum/showthread...threadid=30606

The fastest comfirmed time (from an owner) for an srt10 is 13.5.
Some magazines were running 14's with the srt10, so I guess its true. It's in a magazine....

Confirm your time and back it up, then you'll get a congrats.... Until then, you'll get replies like this..

Name a track and time, I'll come video it for you...

so why cant you believe the ram can run faster then what they tested it?

so you think when motor trend ran a 13.1 and then a 13.6 with a 650lb load in the SRT-10 it was bogus? ha what was their 1/4 mile track a little shorter than yours.

All I have got to say is if i payed 45K for a SRT-10 with 500hp, and it didn't consistantly run LOW and i mean LOW 12's, I would, cry.

Ok, I got you now. It could be true, but man this Lightning is unlike anything I have ever owned AND still capable of doing what ever I need it to do as far as a truck goes...

I only have a camping trailer I take camping now and then (weighs approx. 2,800lbs) so I don't have any big trailer, but anyhow I do understand your point...

Why are you even posting this here, This is a Lightning Forum. Take your self over to the SRT forums and post.

The Lightning was / is still the best peformance pickup in America BAR NONE. I could give two ****s whether it ran 12.9 or 10.9 for that matter. Its still a POS Dodge.

TROLL!!!!

I've seen two things happen in this thread that I find simply amazing. Number one: A troll posser that got over 100 replys.
And, number one: The worst case of spelling errors in history.

Pardon me Mr. V!0. I'm not here to talk sh*t about the SRT 10. I think it's good that there is finally something to race that resembles a truck. But until you show us a pic of your truck, and a copy of your timeslip. Go away so we can get back to some serious LIGHTNING stuff.

Thank you!!

I would believe a srt10 ran faster than 13.5 IF there was proof, rather than a claim. Or see it for myself.

Also, that 13.8 stock lightning was a 99-00 model, 01+ have a lil more umph.

I believe magazines can be paid to print, and don't really care what it does with added weight. Who in the world would add weight to a vehicle before they race it...
