Who know if he's telling the truth or not? If he ran a 12.9 good for him, with 500 hp it should be a little faster then an L. If he didnt run 12.9, well then good for us i guess. I back my lightning brothers 100% but I must say I never really understood the whole, our trucks are $15,000 less and just as fast therefore we're better, arguement. I mean lets face it I'm pretty sure you could go out and buy an absolute pos whatever for a few grand and drop 25,000 into it and make it smoke almost any stock vehicle on the road. Actually just thinking about it, a guy in my old car club bought a 3000 GT for $3000 the car wasn't in the best shape but it wasn't that bad. He ran an 8.6 in the 1/8th. Give him 20,000 and that car could beat anything. I mean if we can use that argument than srt 4's could say the same thing, give them a few hundred or a grand in mods and they'd probably beat us. Don't get me wrong I love my L more then almost anything, and I'd never get rid of it, and I would never buy an srt 10. I'm not talking down about our trucks or anybody here, only talking down about our justification as to why our trucks are better than theirs. We all know they are but I think we need to come up with new reasons

V!0, congrats on your 12 second pass, although i'm still to see proof. I own a Viper, Lightning and a 2003 Cobra so i know a little about speed. However, the new SRT-10 just doesn't do it for me, for one, it's still ugly and not near as nice as the Lightning, sorry bro, just putting like it is. Also, in a street race, chances are my lightning will hook up way better than the SRT-10 and you could miss a gear while i just step on the go pedal. On the other hand, the Viper motor is a great motor, no doubt, but you might want to consider the big Nitrous shot, trust me, i know (kaboom!!). i might have to go out to the track myself, i will bring a trailer to load your Ram because the motor is going bye bye, wouldn't that look sweet, my "Lightning" hauling your broken down SRT-10 around. Can you picture it.

I dont see why you should be lieing, congratulations on your run. For most of us Lightning owners 12.9s is a thing of the past. Now what would a 500hp Lightning run, 11s? Now 500 hp+ 300hp =800hp. How fast do you think you could go? A 650-670 rwhp Lightning can go 10s, pretty soon there will be a few Lightnings in the 9s. Lightnings are not one but a few steps ahead of the SRT-10, how long will it take for you guys to catch up?

there are many vipers with 800+rear wheel horsepower so the srt-10 already has the parts out there to do the same

Have of the people on this thread are defending this guy. He started this whole thing. This was no more than to start shiat:

I like the lightings but I went ahead and spent the extra ten grand and got the SRT-10. After driving both of them the Ram feels much faster. I took it to the track after 500 miles and got a 12.9@107.09. If you read on this motortrend link they tested it and got 13.1@107.07. My truck was bone stock by the way. Sorry the L is no longer the fastest productoin truck.

Who gets on a lightning forum just to make a thread about why they think there truck is better than the entire lightning community and how they are now the supreme truck?

 

i might be wrong here, but the fastest modded vipers run 9's. that is not very far ahead of the fastest lightnings (low 10's). and btw, do you really think 800 hp in a srt10 ram would even put it in the 10's? there is a slight difference in weight and traction.

i live in houston, so i'll see you around, if your truck actually exists. and don't worry i'll wash my truck so you can see a good reflection of yourself in my tailgate.
