Actually our staff runs the show here. Only when the need arises do they bring it up with IB.

That sounds better, cause IB running stuff would almost certainly drag this forum down and throw it in the pot with every other one under their umbrella. Not to say that IB is bad or anything, it's just an inevitability any time a "big" organization is in charge.

I really do love this site. The wealth of knowledge here is irreplaceable. It fills in the voids of knowledge that I don't have. With that being said, being new here is kind of daunting.

There are many questions I have. The problem arises when the question has been answered for another model or another engine, and I'm not sure if it would be the same for mine. Here comes the dilemma to necro an old thread or create a new one. Either option opens the troll gates and I don't want to have to deal with it, so I just don't ask.

Other than that, I really do like this place. I am no expert when it comes to anything, but I will give my opinion and state that it is an opinion, and it's worked well so far.

Hi, just happened to be passing by. I used to participate here but as I got older (and started to need to wear Depends . . . hey, don't laugh, your time will come), I stopped visiting. This might have had something to do with the fact that I no longer had an F150, or that, from time to time, I forget how to type . . . but that's neither here nor there.

I was here back in the day (whatever that means). I participated with the Legends Of The Site™, even had my own advice column on the forum . . . but it, like all things, change.

As you only joined a few months ago I am curious how you have a point of reference that would cause you to consider the sate of the forum any less that what it was, since what it was (as deemed "the good old days") was years prior to your joining . . . unless, maybe, you have been lurking for about a decade, in which case that would mean . . . well, that's best left unsaid.

As an "old", I guess the only wisdom I can impart to a disillusioned noob is:

"Hey kid, keep off my lawn!!!!!"

I started this thread, not to question the state of the forum or to state my opinion on its state, but to ask those like you who have been around the forum for considerably longer than I, what they thought of the state of the forum. I haven't much point of reference due to my relatively short time period of involvement, but found it irritating that people seemed to comment on how "dead" the forum was quite frequently. I have grown quite fond of the entire forum and all of its members, and feel/felt defensive about some believing it to be "dead." I apologize for making you, or anyone else, believe that I was questioning the integrity, or "liveliness" of the forum. I was merely inquiring, mostly out of curiosity.

I am quite pleased with all of the thoughts, feelings, and opinions that have been shared. Guys, thank you. It is all greatly appreciated.

IB has the f150online main page set up to divert traffic to their other F150 forum, Facebook and other sites.

For example, over on the main page there is a post on a defective F-150:
https://www.f150online.com/articles/...-150-ecoboost/

To read the article it takes you to IB's other F-150 forum to a 55 page post.

To comment on articles from f150online, you have to log into facebook, which is separate from the forum.

Kobiashi - I'm still waiting for an answer from my post in the "Ask Kobiashi" thread!!! I'm too old now to even remember what I asked but I think it was a question....

I've been here for a while... not as long as some others, but I can admit, it has gone down. I think it has more to do with other resources out on the Internet. Nothing against the forum, but there are other forums out there too.

Heck, I am on a Kubota tractor forum, and there was some guy having issues with his F150, and got it fixed via that forum. So, it all depends on where they land first I suppose.
