On that note, I have been thinking of purchasing my first handgun. Looking into CCW classes afterward.

re: the Citizenship of Obama debate. Do you all think that, if Obama really is not a U.S. citizen, the Republicans would not have already unearthed the evidence and impeached him?

So how do you recommend the republicans get a hold of Obama's long form birth certificate? There's two places it can be, Hawaii or Obama. Neither are releasing it for whatever reason. Deduce what you want.

This is what gets me. Parents have to show their kid's birth certificate to play in sports leagues, why not require presidential candidates to do the same? No cheating that way.

I agree. some form of Religion has sparked every war in history.

We are at war right now because of the religion of others. They take the religion of Muslim and make it into an extreme group. Yet it is all still steamed from religion.

Frank you are the one with the burden of proof. Again the Constitution is only valid when it suits the needs of Repubs. He was already hired so to fire (impeach based on that) you guys have to prove he isn't a citizen.

They already tried that in communist countries. 100 million murders and counting.

Not true. You need to read other history sources other than what you were taught in history class.

Another deflection. Again, ask Obama to show his long-form birth certificate.

Man this thread is all over the place
Its sad that gay marriage hasnt been fully accepted. If "Steve" down the street married "Tim", does it really make your life horrible and cant function on a daily basis.
As far as religion, Im with Drick.

One of the funniest things Ive ever heard from an older hardcore American Catholic lady. She was complaining about our gun laws and how we dont have CCW. She just kept saying "Its your god given right to carry a handgun at all times". Because you know once god created man, he created handguns for them to carry under their leaves

FACT: homosexuality is against God's law. FACT: homosexuality is against natures law. I don't care what people do behind closed doors. It is there business. When they force there lifestyle down my throat in form of laws, and protections and mariage, and public parades to show there perversion, then it is my business. In washington state, if I call someone a ***, I can get charged with a hate crime. Don't tell me that homosexuals don't have special protection. As far as God, as Christians, part of our work is to teach people. Unfortunatly, we are all falable humans who don't get it right. God's word is the only truth. Just because it makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean it is wrong. As people we can justify anything.. the hard part is accepting God's word as truth. That is up to you to do.... not anyone here.

Can you substantiate any of that or are you just parroting what you have heard? Where in God's Word does it say homosexuality is wrong? As far as against nature's law goes, homosexuality does occur in nature.

Calling someone a *** will not get you arrested for a hate crime. Calling someone a *** while whaling the living daylights out of him may get you arrested for a hate crime not (not all police will act on hate crime laws). No one is forcing anyone's lifestyle down anyone's throat. Getting equal rights will have no effect on yours. And I resent you using God's Word to excuse your blind hatred.

The Old Testament is explicitly clear on what the punishments for homosexuality were. The cities of Sodom and Gemorrah were destroyed for their wicked acts, chief among which were homosexuality, and the evil men's desires to rape the visiting angels. As many know, it is from this story that we derived the words sodomy, and sodomite. The whole story is found in Genesis 18:16 through Genesis 19:29. Leviticus 18:22 states, "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination."

The New Testament contains passages that condemn homosexual acts as well. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 state that "Do you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor theives, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."

God's word is very clear that homosexuality is a sinful and unatural lifestyle. There is no ambiguity here.

God loves all sinners, not excluding homosexuals, but hates all form of sin, including homosexuality. Those who refuse to repent of their sin will have to give account to God.

I didn't want to turn this into a hellfire and brimstone sermon, but I felt the need to clarify where in fact the Bible does condemn the homosexual lifestyle.

As you said, drunkards...etc...so back to prohibition I guess?

I don't dispute that homosexuality is against the Bible. So isn't a lot of things against the Bible. In those days they would have stoned Stan and Dan to death for their actions. Today we live in a different world. Not everyone believes in the good book nor do they care.

Who is it for any one group to ban the actions of another unless it directly affects us. What the gay couple down the block do behind their closed doors has no bearing on my life.

If gays are to get married tomorrow, does that make your marriage any less valuable. I would rather see Stan and Dan get married than for someone to be on their 12th marriage and 11th divorce! Obviously they are all for the sanctity of marriage!

Society evolves for better or worse. Your salvation has nothing to do with your neighbors. Believe in what you want. If you want to worship a head of lettuce...go right ahead. Just don't make me pray to it.

There are verses in the Bible that say be sure to take the log out of your own eye before worrying about the splinter in your neighbors eye (Matthew 7:5). Those that live in glass houses should not throw stones...

None of us are perfect and we ALL sin. Clean up your own situation first then worry about others.

Those that don't...be sure to be generous Sunday and tell the good Rev. Phelps hi for me!!!!!
