1. No. If you refer to the Bible, the people in the old testament were in 'prison' after death; the Bible tells of Jesus going down 'into the pit' of hell and rescuing them. I'm no Bible scholar and I dont understand everything but I do remember learning about this.

2. I do not know about people who have never heard of Jesus Christ. I am not their judge.

3. Other religions are wrong. Anything that deviates from teachings in the Bible is wrong. Islam? False. Buddhism? False.


My delayed response is due to multitude of yelling matches that I have with contractors everyday. They want everything for free...not happenin'

 

This really reminds me of the intelligent design argument. The essentials of that argument is it is great we were designed to breathe oxygen, because if we hadn't we would have died. Using Darwin's theory of evolution that argument is easily dismissed. We don't breathe silicon, because there isn't enough in the atmosphere to support life. All of the silicon breathing organisms have died. We weren't designed to breathe oxygen, it just happened that that was the primary gas that could support life so we thrived. We are the way we are because it has to be that way. The earth is the way the earth is because that is where it is in it's evolution. It just so happens at this point in time the earth can support life.

When I was younger I would get mercilessly beat frequently (3-4x per week). Later, when I was older, I was asked why I didn't report it. The only answer I could come up with was I thought everybody went through the same thing. In my world view it was normal. I couldn't see how anybody lived any other way.

I am at a point in my life where I don't really discuss my religious beliefs (most of you would think I was weird if I did anyway). I had the benefit of a Catholic education when I was much younger. One nun put it very succinctly, why can't religion and science co-exist? Remember the bible was written by people who lacked basic scientific understanding. We scientifically know certain bits of our history, much of which parallels religious thought, so why can't many of the bible story be scientific occurrences accurately described by non-scientists? Since they didn't have the scientific words to explain what was going on, perhaps they explained it in the best language they could. This doesn't mean science has negated religion, only that science has explained some of the mysteries. Even scientists don't know how life began. What's to say God didn't act within the rules he set up by just bumping the course of the world in one way or another?

 

Okay today i seen out my back window 2 turkeys mating, so i get my binoculars to check them out because i am perv... Now when i get a good focus on them i see it is 2 males trying to do one another. Now it was said in this thread that it is against nature for this to happen??? WTF is going on here?, now i have to post sign on my property stating DADT to all the animals in a language they can understand...I wish i had a pic of this also to PROVE it was really happening but as with religion there is NO PROOF of anything just senceless babble..... Where is Habibi???...
