Perhaps, but the worry is there. Remember when DC tried to ban handguns? That was only a year ago. I don't think many Republicans would try something like that. I don't think it's a concern that specifically OB would be the one to attempt an increase in gun control, but a Democrat controlled Congress with a Democrat in the oval office is a concern.

Just kidding- I love Louisiana. Besides, I didn't say the south was uneducated. But, come on- if you live in the south, then you know education takes a distant forth place behind hunting, fishing, and ATV four wheeling.
In some places in the South that's unfortunately true. However, there area where I happen to live has one of the highest concentrations of PhD's per capita (it was the highest a couple years ago, don't know anymore). There are growing cities all over the place where the stereotypical backwater Southerner no longer exist. Soon these cities will hold the majority of the voting power, kinda like NYC in NY, but on a smaller scale and multiple cities instead of one megalopolis.

Maybe if you're taking about racism in white people. I grew up outside of Detroit, so believe me, I know it goes the other way too. In all honesty, there is more accepted racism against white people, perpetrated by the black community than the other way around. Affirmative action, scholarships for minorities only, BET (Shouldn't it be African American Entertainment Television? A kid here in the forums got suspended for calling a black girl "black girl" after she kept calling him "white boy"), the NAACP, etc. Could you imagine the reaction if there was a law that stated that you had to hire a certain number of white people, or if there where 'white only' scholarships, or Cracker Entertainment Television or the National Association for the Advancement of Caucasian People? Everyone always talks about wanting equality, when in reality what they really want is special treatment.

I base it on (yes I admit it) things read on internet, snippets heard on tv ads from his campaign and the fact that I can't listen to him for more then five seconds. You (I) can hear the undertones in his presentations. It is not that he wants to be president of his beloved country it's that he wants to president, he wants to be the first black president he wants to be the first muslim president. My opinion that's all.

not sure what it is but there is no way I would vote for him. Just a gut feeling kind of thing I guess.
Trust us...we (I) hear the undertones in your posts just as clearly.

To all those that are going to vote for Obama becasue he is not a republican. That is just cheapening the presidency.

And to all those who are voting for him because he will pull out of Iraq:

He says he will pull out of Iraq right from the get-go. He will not. He will become informed with information that Senators do not have access to and will choose to stay. For a while. Wait for as long as it will take for all the work Bush has done to really take hold. Obama will do nothing at all but get all the credit that Bush deserves. When he pulls the troops out half way through his presidency (god forbid) and Iraq goes to hell, It will be the next presidents' fault. If he gets elected, the press will worship his every breath and word and treat him like the golden child. nothing will be his fault. It will be interesting to see how long the country will blame things on Bush.

Bush did not create the war on terror, he just has the ***** to fight it

Yup. The company I work for has lost underwater inspection jobs because the Government agencies we work for need to have a certain % of their contracts given to businesses that are owned by women or minorities. Even though we have more experience, Professionally Licensed Engineers and we can do it cheaper, we still don't get the jobs. That's some BS.
