The wife backed into a telephone pole with the Taurus this afternoon -- how you do that in a car with back-up sensors I have no idea, but she's an amazing woman.....

I guess that's one way for her to hint that she wants a back up camera
I'll give you 1500 but that includes you detailing my truck and delivering the car. Sounds like a hard deal to pass up IMO
I actually found a really clean 03 Civic with 140k miles for $300. Supposedly all it needs is ball joints and a couple of tires. I'm thinking about getting it and trying to flip it.
how bout you come get it and I'll send you home with a bottle of wax and applicator pads

Where was that post about how you're gonna cringe seeing this thing in daily grind and get peppered with door dings

Oddly enough, there aren't any door dings on it yet, which is almost incomprehensible considering it gets parked in the staff parking lot of an elementary school 5 days a week! Nothing but a continuous stream of women in a 5-minute-late tizzy getting in-and-out of vehicles with armloads of books and bags.....
Fortunately, all the pole seems to have done is put a very slight deformation in the rear bumper cover -- 99% of the world will never notice it, so we'll just roll with it the way it is. Again, I always have to remind myself that there is a different aesthetic criteria that needs to be in place for a "daily driver" than one of my "babies".....
Got a call from dad his f150 was flashing the CEL. Thought ah no biggie just a coil pack etc.
popped the hood to take a peek and found the problem pretty quick.
mice has had a field day in the engine bay and chewed through the injector harness. Pulled lots of string, paper and leaves out along with 2 small chains. There is still one more chain there. Gonna try to fix the wiring harness and look for any other damage the next few days. Once everything is fixed I'm taking it to a detailer and having the engine steam cleaned and detailed. The smell is horrible under there. Truck has been sitting in my garage most of day and it smells rank in there!
Seems really familiar to what happened this morning. Rough start, definitely misfiring under all driving conditions, takes about 2 miles to set the CEL light flashing. Hooked up scanner while driving P0205. Get to work pop the hood....
That's what's always worried me with my truck sitting. I have a ton of squirrels at my house, they'd have a field day with the wiring if they found it.
If you want to help prevent the mice in the future, use Bounce sheets. We have mice issues on the farm and use them when storing the sleds, quads and tractors. They work better than moth ***** and easier to deal with.
Just make sure you remove them before you fire it up though (I tie one to the handlebars, steering wheel as a reminder).
I've heard of dryer sheets also. Going with the peppermint oil for sure.
have an appt at the detailer tomorrow morning for a engine detail and outside detail (which is included with engine detail) on the 01 f150. I went in and talked to him and he was very knowledgeable on the tritons and their moisture issues. He said he's taught his guys to spray away from the coil packs and in 16 years he's only had to replace 3 coils. So it's a pretty good track record. He told me if when he starts it up and it's rough he will pull the coil and dry everything out and if it's still misfiring he will replace every coil that is dead. Figure I'll take the chance
Actually, I might keep an eye on this one and see where the bids go -- if I could pick it up at a reasonable price I could sell my current Cavalier and end up upgrading a few years and about 80,000 miles for relatively little out-of-pocket money. Hmmm.....

For some reason I expect it to hit around 5 to 6k. You'd probaby have to put new tires on it, apparently they bought the cheapest tires they could find. Prime wells are sold at firestone and I've tried em twice and they were horrible. I had a set on our old 91 crown victory years ago and they were load and wore out within 20k. Got another set of at prime wells for the work van and about the same thing.
