I'm thinking about doing the VTA mod on the truck. Only takes 10 mins and 2 bucks to do it and it reversable if I don't like it

Well, the car in Ohio just didn't "sing" to me today -- I guess the search for my next "toy" continues.....

Pro's:

- 4100 original miles.
- Absolute "time capsule" condition.
- Would have been a fun "oddity" to take to local car shows.

Con's:

- Not a two door.
- Had a heavily smog-restricted 5.0 that had ZERO get-up-and-go.
- Rode like you were laying in a 70's-era water bed and an annoying kid was jumping on the end of the mattress.

Had a fella begging me for money at the coffee shop today. I had a feeling he was one of the legit ones so I probably would have gave it to him if I could, but all I had was my card...... Poor fella, I feel so bad for those people...

Some people like me don't realize what they have at all. I don't have any great amount of money most of the time, but I'm still fully aware that I am a very, very rich man. Frig what my bank receipts say, constant reminders of what a ceiling is are terrifically overrated by so many. And that's only the beginning.

We had a 91 about 10 years ago. Great old car. Was told the odometer had rolled over 4 times. Kept it for 5 years and drove the snot out of it. Pegged 2 deer with it, Grand Dam Backed into the passenger rear door in walmart. Few off road excursions

I prefer the wagons of the 70s better than the sedans.

Looks like it's in great shape for a 40 year old car

The condition of the vehicle was nothing short of outstanding, which I think is why I am kind of disappointed. But my God, what an absolute DOG that 5.0 engine was in this car -- there is no doubt the '80's were the "Dark Age" of vehicle performance! That car had all it could do to get out of it's own way.....

Left early this morning, drove to Anson, just north of Abilene for a cousin's funeral. Couldn't post as the mobile app on my phone won't open a thread that has more than one page. This thread slightly exceeds that. The phone app is virtually worthless(pun intended). Drove 382 miles, most with the cruise set at either 70 or 77 and averaged 20.1. Not bad considering I had to accelerate hard a few times to pass EB's when they wouldn't get out of the way.

Had a young girl come up to me begging for money in the Wal-Mart parking lot last night here in Ohio. She looked like she was getting ready to go smoke crack with her gang-banging boyfriend, so I told her to move along and look for the next sucker.....

Whenever I am out and about with my son and see someone pan-handling for money, I point to them and explain that this is almost always the consequence of bad choices, and why it is important for him to avoid drugs, study hard in school, and not "ding-up" some bimbo before he is married.....
