Lots of fog this morning but its supposed to be close to 80 if the sun comes out. Mardi Gras season is here and the NBA all star game is to be played in New Orleans tonight...ought to be a traffic nightmare!!

Went to a friend's house, chopped down 4 Crape Myrtle, and another bush. Maybe halfway done with cutting at this point....

Oh well, that makes it an easy decision for me -- put the new tires on mine, do the preventative maintenance that's due, and drive it into the ground!

Now I can continue banking my extra "mad money" for something else -- toying with the idea of selling the LTD and buying a Focus ST as my 4th "baby"......

Finished up at $5800 -- can't say I expected it to go quite that high -- even given the condition and the fact that it only had 12,000 miles on it. Oh well -- it should be an excellent car for someone who didn't want to drop "big bucks" on a reliable daily driver!

Those ST's are fun little cars. I haven't really paid attention to them since 2013, have they done anything different to them since then?

I think I've made up my mind too. I'm just going to run my 13 to the ground and search for a decent 79 F150 with a 351 or 400 to have as a weekend warrior. I had a semi clean 78 F150 Ranger about 10 or 11 years ago but I got rid of it and have regretted it ever since. I've always had a soft spot for them.

What a day. Wife decided she wanted a new car since her transmission took a **** a few weeks back.

First started out on a mustang, founded 2 2016 GT's being at the 30k mark she decided to look a little cheaper.

Next was a 2015 Charger with the 3.6 V6 but very nicely optioned out, found out it was a previous rental car so there went that.

3rd up was a a 2013 Lincoln MXZ. Tuxedo Black 49k miles and optioned very nicely. She didn't like it not having a back up camera and seemed to have a little visibility issues

Next was a 2013 Accord then a 2016 fusion and a 2012 F150 (yes that would've been 3 f150s at the house) Didn't like those to much and ended the night looking at a 2013 Nissan Maxima Sport edition with 43k miles and a 2016 Challenger.

Needless to say I'm done with vehicle shopping, we aren't aren't any closer then we started at 830am this morning.

If it was my choice I'd do the MXZ or the Maxima.

Yeah -- I'll have to take an ST out for a run and see what I think of them before I decide.

A late '70's Ford would be cool -- almost impossible to find in the condition I like, but if you're looking for more of a "driver" there are still quite a few of them to be had! I tend to like the older ones with the round headlights better than the later ones where they moved to the rectangular lights.

So many cool vehicles a person could own.....

I don't think she would be happy driving a 1999 M Class that's looks like it spent 20 minutes at the local demolition derby, even though it doesn't bother me . As far as the red f150 I'd rather not let her drive it to work for the fact there is 98 percent women that work there and with the tight parking lot it'll get door dings, when the parking lot fills up then they go to the street and try to parallel park. Just redflags to me. Plus the wife doesn't keep hers near as clean as I do. If she was complaining about the Lincoln not having back up cameras and poor visibility I don't think the 01 f150 would be any better in those regards. Needs something she feels comfortable in.

The Maxima's are a very nice car. Super comfy and decent power/economy. The wife used to have a Altima and loved it.

Only thing I'm not too sure about, is I keep hearing that the CVT tranny's are garbage and basically a throw away when they fail.

Surprised the Lincoln doesn't have a rear view camera, you could add one cheap and easy enough if that was the deal breaker.

I tell ya that little Maxima hauled the mail pretty good! Lol. It had the 3.5 v6. I was really amazed at the gitty up and go of it. Looked online and the 3.5 is rated 290hp so that explains alot. I was worried about the CVT also but the few I've drove the Maxima seemed to be the best by far.

I agree about the Lincoln not having the back up camera, it had the my ford touch 8 inch screen etc. When we parked it back in its spot there was a 2013 Explorer XLT and it had the camera. Told the salesman kinda strange a XLT explorer has it and not the lincoln. Same year and all.

Looks nice -- if we hadn't stumbled on the Taurus that would have definitely been on the wife's wish list!

Let's see:
MKX = Edge
MKT = Explorer
MKC = Escape
MKZ = Fusion
Navigator = Expedition
