Nice day for a lot of people to be off. Too bad the wife has to work today and I get to work around the house.

Had a pretty good little storm come in yesterday afternoon. Small hail and hard rain. Terrific photo captured by the newspaper

Geez, that looks like a nasty one (Pat AND Coy)!

Gave the truck a quick rinse after the tour around yesterday. Back on a plane tomorrow.

Haven't washed mine in probably about 3 months. It's feeling pretty neglected.

Fiddy too. I'm past due on her October Annual oil change

I think I found a pretty reputable detailer about 20 miles away. I'm thinking in April I'm going to set up an appointment to have them get rid of the swirl marks they put on my truck when I got it undercoated. I'm still kind of hot about that

Ive been having hell with these Kuhmo Tires on the cavalier. Bought em last year from discount. 1st tire developed a bubble on the inside of the tire and discount replaced it, yesterday started getting a vibration and the rear tire seems to have thrown off the tread on the inside edge. Went over to discount and the offered to replace it but i want another brand of tires. 2 within the last 10k miles isnt a good record. They aren't willing to do anything for me so im going another route.

Found a set of Falken's at Toms Tire World for 29.99 a piece 80k warranty. Mounted balanced OTD is 219.83, so going to get em put on tomorrow. One thing i love about this car is its so damn cheap... I pulled all the maintence records on it since we have had it 50k ish miles.

2 front hubs 220.00
Rotors $55.00
Pads 25.00
Plugs 20.00
Radiator Fan Motor 30.00
Transmission cable bushing 3.00
Kuhmo Tires 250.00

So yea the repair costs are minimal, thats about a car payment for most

Also Dads 93 Exploder needed a Radiator a couple days ago. Went to Advance bought the Radiator for 84.00, Upper and Lower Hoses 23.00, Radiator Cap 6 dollars, Themostat 6 dollars. Taxes and all around $122.00 for all new cooling system. Started to replace the water pump also for 28.00 but they didn't have it in stock.

Beginning to wonder why i am driving new vehicles that are triple the costs of the older ones

From a purely financial standpoint, purchasing a new vehicle makes ZERO sense. Ownership of a new vehicle is almost always a vanity or lifestyle issue. I have no problem with someone wanting to drive a nice, new vehicle -- but as a financial issue it is usually a bone-headed move.
