Had to do a little wheel well liner trimming today. The tires were rubbing a bit in reverse with the wheel turned to the right at full lock. Found a small part of the liner was a bit loose so I just cut about 3" of it off. Problem solved

When I first bought my 315x70's I had them on 17x9 wheels with 0 degree offset or 5 inches of backspacing. I had the same exact problem with rubbing in the same place. Trimming helped but not as much as buying wheels with close to stock specs which I ended up doing.

I hope I don't have to do that. I love these wheels, and they weren't cheap. These wheels should have the proper back spacing from the factory, although on an actual Raptor they stick out farther because of the longer lower control arms. But I did a substantial amount of research before making the move to this tire size. As far as I know, they should work just fine with these wheels.

The part I trimmed was the lowest part of the wheel well liner behind the tire. It was almost like an extra lip at the bottom of the wheel well. I had my fiancé (weird saying that lol) drive the truck in reverse with the wheel turned to the right and I could see that's exactly the part it was rubbing on. I trimmed it off nice and straight on both sides and they no longer rub. There seems to still be enough wiggle room in there for tires this size. When I told her I was gonna have to do some trimming, she just rolled her eyes at me

The Raptor wheels only stick out 1/2" more than the OEM 17's. I had to use 17x8" wide wheels with stock 5.5 inches of backspacing which also netted a 1/2" gain over the stocker's but in a different way. The 8.5" wide Raptor wheels are much better for the 315mm width then the 8" wides I had but over 10 yrs ago the Raptor's weren't out yet! I didn't like trimming my 1 yr old '04 at the time but never looked back at what was done. Anyway your truck looks great with the bigger meats!!

The car didn't drive herself off a cliff, yup there was someone inside. was found in another spot, ejected. Double miracle. Injured pretty seriously, but Someone was not meant to die that morning. And sadly, that had to be what they were trying to do.

A little more involved with the deck then I thought...water rot wood from all the rain we've been having. Bigger job than what I thought.

Mine too. When I pulled off a few of the boards, there was more concealed rot underneath than I expected. Pulling those 12' 2x6s up that have the deck nails is a challenge for someone that does not like to work. I have gotten to be real good with the pry bars.

Thought maybe it was a car that was stolen for a joyride and then they tried to dispose of the evidence by pushing it over the cliff! All I have to say is that person must REALLY be a loser if they can't even kill themselves by driving their car off a cliff that is hundreds of feet high.....

Yeah, you'd think, but it's harder than it looks from the pics if you aren't familiar with the area. It's a historic site, it tends to be full of people, the city is just past view both on the other side of the hill and to the left in the pic. she had to break open an iron gate, go up a narrow "road" that's usually just a pedestrian walkway, then drive through an opening in the stone wall that goes around the tower and parking lot where a trail led out, down over the cliff. You'd be asking to get caught. Even for suicide there are easier ways to go about it

I shouldn't joke about it, but my thought is this is what happens when you drive an echo too long

Looks like they used glue nails when they put the deck boards down and caused the 1x12's to rot on top. We're turning them upside down to use the good edges to screw the deck boards back down.
