jgger....a glue nail is another name for an adhesive coated nail used in a nail gun. For some reason the crew that used these thought no one else would ever have to pull them out. PITA plus they caused water rot to the boards they were nailed into. Buddy of mine that's a contractor told me about these...probably invented by a Cajun!!

Never heard of them before, I wonder if it's a regional thing (we don't get quite as much water on the left coast as you get). Learn something every day. Now I'm curious and will ask my supplier about them. Maybe they go by another name out here. BTW we always use screws out here because they don't loosen up when the boards warp in the sun, plus you can remove them with a little work.

Thanks for the lesson.

I don't think it's a regional thing except that they were called glue nails by my buddy. We're definitely using screws to put the deck boards on now. Making a big pot of coffee now to go get started while the weather is perfect! My hat's off to anyone who can survive 46 yrs in carpentry!!

Crusing down the main drag this afternoon and noticed a guy in a new Ram kept staring at the truck. Figured maybe he wanted to race, tried it and that wasn't it. Next light kept staring. Got to the 3rd light and he rolled down the winder and asked who washed my truck .

Told him I did it myself and asked how much I would charge? Thought of a high number and told him $350, he said let's do it. We pulled over chatted for a while and he's bringing it to me Monday.

Win Win!

Are you washing it or detailing it? My top-to-bottom details of a car usually take 3-4 days, although I won't lie and say I'm working the entire time. I usually take vacation time specifically for that task and treat myself to some quality time with one of my babies!
