My "truck" was used for camping, fishing, hauling tons of junk back and forth to college (Va Tech from NJ), and of course, my prom date. I spent all day polishing the dents out of it
I have to ask, (1) where are you young guys getting $15,000 for "mods" (let alone the truck) and (2) How wise is it for a 16 year old to spend $15,000 + price of truck - on a truck???
I'm 44, and after all these years (I did have a new ish Toyota 4x4 in college that I paid for w/ savings bonds and working), I finally have a nice truck - Expedition. But that Ex is bought used with limited mods mostly to improve performance. I have the Ex because I have 6 kids and need the versatility. Either way, It took me a long time and I still probably can't afford to own it
I just am greatly concerned about the wisdom of such young people dumping such huge amounts of hard earned $$ into something that ultimately does not last. How about using that $$ to pay for college, or, if not college, a downpayment on a house?
I wish I had it to do over. I would have made many decisions about finances differently.
At 16, with the ultimate 4x4 machine in your possesion, where do you go from here?

Spoken like a true fellow Father and husband
We (boys) never change, and if you don't stay young at heart what's the point. I love my God, family, and country....and my F150
You obviously think that what I wrote was about you personally, don't know why, but you had to drag all your accolades out. Sorry to say I didn't see the pee-wee hitting trophy either.
Good for you, atta-boy, I'll make a sign for you that you are the greatest. If you feel like I was owned and it makes you feel better about yourself and sleep better, your welcome.
I am just not going to get into a pissing match online.

I don't really consider myself spoiled, but when I turned 16 my mom bought me a 1989 f250 351 for $3000 cash. I kept that truck right up until the summer I graduated when the the parts I was replacing on my truck started to cost more than the truck was blue booking for. I got a decent paying part time job and financed a used 2003 f150. My mom does pay the insurance, but only until I am finished with school which will be in about 2 months here then it is out into the real world for me.

A debate consists of two or more parties taking turns expressing their beliefs, allowing the other party(ies) to reply, and then again providing a counter. When someone fails to reply or address what the other says, that's called losing the argument. All you needed to do is explain to me how I am wrong,
but the very fact that you refuse to do so tells me that you are incapable of doing so.
You two should just take it to the PM's instead.
Just my two cents.
As for the thread topic, I could care less who bought you the truck, or how old you are . Makes no difference to me, I appreciate all modded F-150's.

This thread got way off topic somehow. I dont care who got your truck, i was just seeing all the trucks owned by kids my age. Lumadar you wooped dennisfranz a$$ in the argument though. You have a way with words.

Well, this thread didn't turn into as much of a flame out as I thought it would so here's my story. Kept good grades through high school, earned about $2000 worth of scholarships and was given my truck halfway through senior year. My parents are paying the gas, and insurance, but I keep myself busy so they don't mind.
I work 7-5 mon-fri making $17 hr as an engineering intern, and work a Sat. day job with race cars making $10 hr.. freshmen in college, I'm taking 4 units in the evening this summer, and I am a part of a club that basically devours my life. Said club is also reason they're still paying gas, all money is now currently being saved towards a trip to Italy in September, at the Ferrari Test Track
I'm flying Air India round trip to Germany for $600, yes I'm not looking forward to that flight.
All the mods I saved up for myself. My little bro is learning bodywork so he did all the paint work for me using PPG supplies. My next mod is Harley 20s when the tires hit the tread indicators, but after that I think that a down payment on a house is more important than my truck.
