Having grown up on a farm back in the 50's and 60's when I graduated in 1970 my parents bought me a Dodge Dart 340 Swinger. That car was a blast and FAST.
$2,600 brand new, out the door. The furthest thang on my mind was owning a truck cuz back then only farmers owned trucks and I'd had enough driving farm vehicles all the time.

One of my cousins had a Valiant, with A/C. That thing was ugly , but is was a blast.

Black rubber tires in comparison to gum rubber tires actually have a little bit of static discharge potential already in their molecular build, so they naturally disperse a little bit of charge on the roadway in the same way airplanes use static wicks to disperse static from the air.

I got mine in october of 07' am a senior as well, and I've just put my stereo in it so far, just because I've been so amazed at audio in general, and when I saw my neighbors ranger dash jump up and down with the beat, I was hooked.
After i pay the $5k back to my parents, I plan on doing a lot to it. I want to get hid's for it soon, new hood, and some 33's, and headers, cams, dual it, and who knows what else....= P

Now if a high schooler bought it, put a down payment, saved up etc.. I applaud them for their focus and hard work. Then they really deserve a fruit of their labor like a beautiful truck. They have the right to make it known that they BOUGHT IT, "wipe your feet before you get in."

I've seen too many kids get a brand new nice truck, put on $$$ of aftermarket add ons, then drive the thing like it was stolen and smash, scratch, dent, and generally treat it like crap, aka, go out on weekends drinking in that brand new nice truck.

Those that paid, work and bought a vehicle, tend to wash it, rub it, maintain it and generally treat it like it was a true reward.
i bought my ol' 97 and im only 15, dad gives me crap about it, but it is a lobor of love to me! not gonna be a truck of the month on here for sure, but i worked my a$$ off to get the thing! it was barely able to stop when i got the thing, "that was a wild goose chase trying to find the problem" but now im on to cosmetics!
