I just graduated high school with the class of '09 and the summer after I graduated I bought my 1990 F150. I have had my 1973 Maverick since sophomore year, and even though my parents bought that car I paid for everything done to it. For a year or so I also drove a 2005 Sport Trac 4x4 and modified it some, but now it is my little brother's truck. Here's a pic of the F150, waiting on the 2.5" lift to go on.

Here's my perspective:

Im 26. I got a 2 year old F150 when I was 16. I still have it. I have maintained it very well, waxed and polished it religiously, and have not beaten it up. It still look and runs like it did when I was 16.

I have no problem with a young kid being given a nice vehicle as long as they act mature about it and treat it like it's a privilage to own it. I see far too many high-school/college age kids get new trucks, sports cars, and Tahoe's that treat them like hell and abuse the heck out of them. They act like its their right to have a nice vehicle that they dont have to pay for.

I went to work on a traveling roofing crew when I was 16 and worked other various construction jobs all through college. I helped pay for my truck but there was no way that I could pay for it all at that young of an age.

And to that mouthly little spoiled ****er who hates older men; you need a serious lesson in respect and humility. Your ****y attitude will only cause you to hit a brick wall one day. Seen it many times bud, you're no different.

wow there buddy. i believe you need to keep your comments to your self...sounds like to me you are the true spoiled kid here...its all great if you are more fortunate than some of us and you get free vehicles...i have nothing against that unless you act like a dumb ***. but working for your own vehicle gives you so much more respect for it and the value of money...and try it sometime, it may also give you some respect for those "condescending old geezers" on here. by what you said just proves they have a reason to dislike and "pick on kids". try listening sometime, a lot of the time they actually have good things to say. just respect the elders, whether you like it or not, they have lived life more than you and you could learn a lot from them and wont end up in a dead end.
