Trucks owned by High Schoolers

18, senior in highschool and my brother is a 14 year old freshmen. those are our trucks. obviously mine is the red one and the king ranch is his. i've also got a 67 mustang fastback with a 390 hipo, 5 speed from a new gt, and the eleanor gt500e body kit. if ya'll would like some pictures of that?
Since when were 14 year olds are allowed to drive???
he drives it every now and then. each grandchild got a car from our grandfather. that black one was totaled. i helped pull the entire rear end of the truck off and swap a new rear frame section, bed, etc. back onto it. wish he'd have done it. helps you respect your stuff alittle more
I didnt have Shi for a vehicle like this in high school, but I promise my son will "thumbs". I had a 87 ranger
,

I built this car it was totalled, my dad sold my 87 Ranger and bought this for 1Grand. I pulled the motor had a stock car engineer built the engine. Then did all the body work my old man sprayed it for me, I didnt get to choose the colors tho why it looks like Mcdonalds national theme car. It was cool for awhile.

I'll ask you the same thing I've asked other teenagers who get brand new F150s... What have you done to deserve a $30K+ vehicle? (None have been able to give an answer other than, "I'm a good kid, so I earned it". Being a good kid keeps you from getting your *** beat and kicked out of the house, it doesn't entitle you to a reward.)
Do you pay for gas, insurance, taxes, regular maintenance, parts, inspections, registration, etc? If not, then shut your mouth and be extremely happy that someone else has the money and is willing to support you.

Got my truck when I was in high school. Yes, my dad got the truck for me. Had 116,000 miles on it and just hit 150,000 the other day. Truck was bone stock when I got it. And I promise I really did pay for my mods. It's not complete yet, I'm just getting stuff as I go. I got the truck at the end of my sophmore year in high school, and was able to save enough to lift it by the last semester of my senior year...shes my baby.
Dont know how to post pics on a reply so go view my profile to see pics..comments are nice too.

When I was in highschool I drove a 1977 El Camino (will post pictures) I paid 2,000 dollars for it. For my senior project (CA bullcrap) I helped a friend build a 68' Mustang, and I got the Ford bug. I ended up selling my El Camino for a profit (5,000 dollars) and the same day went out and bought my 1991 Mustang GT (will post pictures). It had 125k miles on it, and after saving forever, I could afford some aluminum heads (what every high school kid needs!) Well lesson learned, after building the top end of a 125k+ mile 302, the crank snapped in half and I was left without a car.
Well I decided I would save for a new motor. So I bought a new bottom end for $900 and put all my parts from my old motor on it and drove that car until my freshman year in college (2005). At this time I was 18, and decided I wanted to buy a new TRUCK! So I went out and bought a used 03 Hemi Ram 1500. I ended up putting 6k down on it (the money from selling the mustang) and making monthly payments. I put a 6" lift, some Moto Metal Wheels and 35" Toyo tires, dual exhaust, CAI, you know... everything that I couldn't afford. I worked as a manager of a motorcycle shop, and made extremely good money/commission for such a young lad. After my first year of college I realized that I didn't like car payments, and at only 18 being tied down to a car payment while having to keep my GPA up and paying tuition was a bad idea. So I sold the truck and bought another Mustang!
This time it was a 94 GT, and I was going to leave it completely STOCK! (Yeah right) I ended up building a 331 stroker motor for it while in college, and wasting more money on this ridiculous car. So I figured I would keep my eye out for another truck so that I would stop buying all these damn parts for my Mustang. So I ran across this deal on my F150, and picked it up. It's an 02 Lariat 5.4L in like-new condition, but I couldn't get myself to part with the Mustang. So now, I am a Jr. in college (CSUB - California State University Bakersfield) and no longer have any car payments!!! But I do own two vehicles, and pay a ton in insurance especially for a 21 year old kid and a Mustang GT! So I may not be the smartest kid around, but I definately have learned from experiences, and have not been given a vehicle. All of my stuff has been saved for over a period of time. I love cars and trucks, they are my hobby. My truck is still not finished, I plan to lift it some, but still undecided which lift kit to go with. Sorry the story was so long

Congrats, but you were still spoiled as all hell.

Agreed!! I like how they say but i payed for all the mods...psh big whoop you put 3-4k in mods on a 30k truck someone else bought. My first vehicle my dad did buy but it was by no means fancy..just an old 95' f-150 2wd extended cab with a 351 windsor in it. But my current truck (which I had in high school too) I paid for (well only owe about $300 on but can't pay it off till march or I'll serve a penalty for paying it off too fast) and I've paid for every cent of that truck, its mods, gas, parts, etc.. It sure does feel nice to own your own truck. Everyone thinks I'm particular about it because its always shiny and clean (except for now but thats the snow/salt/sand/ices fault!)
My F150 is hands down the best vehicle I have had, and the pictures above are all the vehicles I have owned. None of them were new, I bought the Dodge with 43,000mi on it, it was 2 years old.

i'll get some better ones up later. got the car when i was 13 and it took my and my grandfather til i was 17 last spring to get it finished. love that thing. done about 120 in 3rd gear
