Here is me and my dads new project. 92' f150, it has power windows/locks, air conditioning, not a thing wrong with it. Runs great and only has 170k miles. We are going to put a small lift and put on some 33's or 35's. O yea and it has solid front suspension!!! its awsome ha!

My parents helped me get my first car. It was a '78 Camaro. They got a loan w/ a payment I could afford, and I paid the bank back, as well as my own insurance. While I still had the car, I decided I wanted a truck. My stepdad was the service manager at the local Mazda place. On my birthday, they took me to the shop because he said they had traded on a truck I migt want. When I got there, there was a brand new Mazda there for me. They said " Happy Birthday!, here's your payment book". I was a senior in high school with a Camaro, a new truck, payments on both, and insurance and gas. They never paid a cent on any of my rides, they just helped me get them. I think I valued these vehicles more because of it.

Dude, college is sooo much better than HS. So you can't be a total slacker, welcome to life. I know I had way more fun during my 7½ years of college than I ever did in HS.

Just for the record, Seth's truck does not have a solid front axle.

That is all.

Now if a high schooler bought it, put a down payment, saved up etc.. I applaud them for their focus and hard work. Then they really deserve a fruit of their labor like a beautiful truck. They have the right to make it known that they BOUGHT IT, "wipe your feet before you get in."

I've seen too many kids get a brand new nice truck, put on $$$ of aftermarket add ons, then drive the thing like it was stolen and smash, scratch, dent, and generally treat it like crap, aka, go out on weekends drinking in that brand new nice truck.

Those that paid, work and bought a vehicle, tend to wash it, rub it, maintain it and generally treat it like it was a true reward.
I think its silly to complain about how a kids parents bought him or her a nice truck. So what? The parent worked hard to give the kid what they want, I don't see how that should be looked down upon. If the kid doesn't treat a gift like a truck correctly, I could see why you'd complain about that. Congrats to the parents who can afford to do this for their kids... and congrats to the kids that get to drive these nice trucks.

thank you for being maybe the one and only person who understands that somebody worked hard for the cars their kids drive. but i do treat my vehicle very well for the most part because it has to last a long time. i saved up and bought myself a vehicle that i can trash when i finish building it. just got the body off today and maybe pulling the motor tonight or next weekend. and i agree with any one who says paying for your own vehicle is very satisfactory i was quite proud of the vehicle i bought even if my parents think its ugly and a POS
