I bought a 99 extended cab when I was 16. Paid for every penny of it including gas, insurance, license and everything else. Put 50,000 miles on it and traded it off this spring. I finished up my 2 years of college this summer and ordered a brand new 09 F-150 in June. Got it the first week of August and am down to 14K left to pay. Heres both of em.

Good job man! your the exception tho...most younger ppl who drive somethin nice didn't pay for it themselves. Do you work for your parents?

And i love both your trucks but especially that 09'! the color of the 09' looks pretty slick!

I help on the farm when I can. I've worked at the local John Deere dealership in the service dept for the last 5 years, detasseled corn during the summer for 3 years before that and for 5 years before that helped a neighbor with a 3 acre garden during the summers.

I've worked hard to get everything I ever wanted. Bought all my tools for work and my 05 RMK (which I traded) for my 08 Polaris RMK snowmobile to play with in the winters.

I like it. The only problem I've had so far was the TPS was a little out of adjustment which makes a big difference on the fuel injected 2 strokes. I got that set this summer which should eliminate the slight bog I was getting and it wouldn't always continue running when I'd hit the reverse button. setting the TPS should fix both of these. Looking forward to seeing the difference this winter on the trips out west.

Might have to trade again after this winter cause I am running out of mods and accessories to add to it. Or maybe jsut add a turbo.

not a high schooler but.. my first car was a 64 VW bug my dad paid 1100 for in 1998. i got it in 2004. sold it in 2007 for 2700. i paid for all the little upgrades. in 2005 i used rubbing compound and rubbed the oxidation out of the paint on 90% of the car by hand. upgraded to a focus which i paid for by myself. never moded it just used it for travel from Monterey, CA to Los Angeles. now i have bought my first truck and i am a full time college student and part time worked and somehow have time to keep up with friends and keep my moms car washed, clayed, waxed and my dads 250 washed and waxed..

I'm 17, senior in high school. I bought my truck in August/09 for $13500 (Canadian) and I pay for the insurance, gas and the truck. This is all thanks to Cooperative Education with my school and I work full-time as a professional framer/apprentice carpenter. Parents haven't helped one bit but the truck is worth it.

Not in HS anymore but was not all that long ago. I got my truck when I was 15 from the money I saved up from working. I've been working since I was 11, didn't have a steady job til I was 16, but I would mow grass and do lawn care stuff. I saved that money up from the time I was 11 til I was 15. Then spent almost all of it on the truck. Then I found my truck and bought it. Never had anyone help me with gas, insurance, repairs, nothing.
