Trucks owned by High Schoolers
Yea thats what I thought too but thats about what I'm getting. I went from a 235/70 to a 285/75. I never really got to great of mileage with this truck but what can ya do. It works for what I need.
im turning 19 in august, just graduated high school. i drove the truck all in high school even though it was my dad's, finally at graduation he said i could take it to college with me since its got a lot of miles (UC Davis, 1.5 hours from home) plus our duck blinds are 30 mins from campus, im going to need my truck for that. he wouldnt let me mod it untill this summer, i had saved a lot of money. i wash it often and keep it well maintained. only sees offroad during hunting season, and never abused.

the tires are 33.5"s, and i live in west palm beach, so stop signs and stop lights are nearly anywhere you go.
The milage has a lot to do with the stop and go...The rims+the tires are much heavier than stock...the guy at my shop told me that my tire size with the small rim size and large sidewall made them weigh 85lb. a piece! I saw my milage drop considerably and hopefuly it will improve with new gears (I still have stock ones up)

I agree with the majority of you guys on here. My dad has money and how he chooses to spend it is completely up to him. I am greatful that he buys me nice things but I work like a slave around our houses and working in 100 degree weather in florida is not fun but I do it anyways. I just graduated and got a scholarship to UF so my dad bought me a 07 screw but he had me find the best deal and after searching and talking to people who I knew in the car business I got the truck fully loaded for $30,240 after ttt (bet you wish you knew my dealer) but the point is I am greatful and take care of what I own. The stereotype that all kids with nice trucks are spoiled completely depends on how the parents raise the kid. Having money does not make you spoiled. I work 60 hours a week during the summer and buy all the mods on my truck but during school I bust my *** for my grades so I can give my kids the same things my dad gave me. just my .02
Im 18 now but I got my truck for my 17th birthday brand new when I was a junior. My mom does well, and Im an only child so I got a new truck. It actually wasn't even my idea. When I weant to pick up my first truck, '79 f250, from the dealership after having repairs done it broke down on me about 6 times in 10 miles. Took it back to the dealership, and then my mom started lookin at other trucks for sale. I was all for it since my old truck was breaking down all the time wherever I weant. So I had my eye on a '03 HEMI ram regular cab short bed 2wd, but gas and insurance prices were the deciding factors. That was a fast and nice truck too, but I cant live with high insurance rates and bad gas millage. So I got the F150, and it grew on me from there. The longer I have it the more I love it. I am a detailer at a large dealership and I do a full details on my truck all the time. So whoever thinks that people only take care of cars they buy themselves are incorrect. Truck was $14,500 before taxes, so I get the looks of a $30k truck without the price. I pay for everything else: mods, gas, and insurance. Check gallery for pics.
