Haha, you guys and your 8's. My 6 will get me 2 weeks/390 miles on $60.

Park it for a week and carpool. Me and my g/f do that at least twice a week. One week with her, one week with me, etc. $ave$ u$ bunche$!

Just paid off insurance and dad cut me a deal- get a B or better in math (currently a 65D) and the new trannie ($1,300) that I just had to get will be paid every penny by him. Thats good news! So I'm trying to work my butt off!

Not sure how cheap your looking for but I got a set of JC Whitney nerf bars for christmas. Their awesome and easy install. The black bars look sick.

on the other hand, i dont know if anybody noticed that in some of the pictures with really nice trucks tht high schoolers drive( 04' models and up), you can see there house in the background...and tht kinda tells me whoever tht kid is, is set for life...mom and dad will make sure hes taken care of, and he prolly wont even need to graduate high school..but for the ones of you who actually care about what your given, and dont depend on mommy and daddy, more power to you, your cool with me...but for the kids who just dont care cuz everythings handed to em on a silver platter...not only do i think im better than you, i know i am
Curious what you do in "construction" (evidently non-union) at your age? Just curious.... What I'm going to comment about, because it pisses me off more than anything in the world, is punk-**** kids with a "grew up poor, i worked harder, so i'm better than you" attitude. Now don't get me wrong, I'm only 23. Grew up as a farm kid, no real cash there. Ma was a teacher, again, not much income. Got an 83 chevy from a field, cleanish body, rebuilt the engine, bought a new tranny, there's my first truck. maybe 1500 total invested, that of course i paid for. Insurance was cheap, big plus.
Joined the ole Army at 17, not that my grades weren't good enough. Mainted a 3.5 in high school, scored a 30 on my ACT. Not stupid, by any stretch, just a little too restless for school. After a little stint in Iraq, bought a real truck, my 03 FX4. Got hurt, medical discharge, now i'm a carpenter. Bought an 05 SCrew XLT few weeks ago. It's not NEW, but it's nice enough for me.
Now lookin at the story, have i worked harder than you? Sure, only because i'm a LITTLE older and chose some stupid wokrplaces... Does it make me better that i grew up with nothing and now have some nice crap that really doesn't matter? No. Does the fact i'm a disabled vet with a handicap plate mean i deserve any more respect than any other patriotic person in the country? Heck no.
Who your daddy is, and what they do or don't give you based on either their love, or how much they try to buy it, has NO reflection on what type of person the kid is. If you THINK you're better, it's because you're a jealous little punk-**** CHILD who has yet to live on their own, and realize it's about being proud of what YOU can accomplish, and what YOU make for yourself. Sure, ya WANT a nice truck in high-school, but eventually the wings of mamma and pappa won't cover ya, and everyones forced to make their own way. Think of it as being LUCKIER than some people that you've had the OPPORTUNITY to realize that sometimes you have to work a little harder to get by, or get what you want to have. Just puts you a step higher on the learning curve, but by NO MEANS makes you better than a single soul. And if you really want to do a tally of "accomplishments", im sure there's a dozen old timers on here that can pick a single decade of their life, and squash you numbers into the ground. But they won't. Because they already know.

Just wondering but how in the hell do some of you pay for the lifts or other mods with the truck payment gas and insurance while paying for food too as well as the NEEDS? I am 17 and a senior and work a full time job and a part time job together getting paid $18 a hour and at times it is still hard to get by and I do not go out and by things I dont need. Then again I pay for MY truck and MY quad with food, clothes and every other bill in MY NAME!

keep in mind they still live at home. They're in H.S, so utility bills meen absolutely NOTHING. Those Tommy jeans they wear, think 95% know the price on that crap? Or care? That's how they afford it. Sure, they may have to pay for gas, or insurance, or mods (whoo hoo...). But you think every one of these trucks would have a lift and shiny new rims if they had to pay for FOOD? or were even old enough to have a BEER? There's the answer, plain and simple. When i had just a truck bill, you bet your **** it had everything i wanted. Now with a wife finishing a B.S. Nursing, and my measly 45k a year, i dont. But i sure as hell have everything i need, and that's good enough.
