Trucks owned by High Schoolers

However, I will still stand by my original statement that dropping out of high school can make the rest of your life unnecessarily difficult. It's not that hard to graduate (or get your GED) and you are doing yourself a disservice by not doing so.

Ok let me ask this r u a yankee? then also why do u question his decision? Does it affect u? It is not ur life. "If he'd been a little smarter he'd have sold the truck to help support the kid, graduate, and get a decent job." Who r u to of said what he should have done?

Are you an ignorant, tobacco chewin', NASCAR watchin', sister ********n' redneck? That's what everyone in Detroit thinks about Southerners, doesn't mean it's true.
Now based on KK's first post
i would have graduated high school last year but dropped out when i had a baby on the way to support my family. I bought this truck a year ago on 35s and I had the lift installed and i pay insurance and the truck payment
I'm sorry if the Cletus picture struck a nerve... It was primarily intended to go with the poison ivy toilet paper comment...

that makes it sound like he didn't have any help from parents, grandparents, etc and had to leave 1 year shy of graduation so he could support his family. Life's a bitch sometimes, you do what you have to. But it was the 2nd part of his post that got me... If you're hurting for money so much that you can't finish school, and you've got a little baby, why the hell would you drop all kinds of cash to get a truck and put a 19" lift on it, 40" tires and 20" rims that same year (or maybe 1 year later)? Seems like poor decision making to me.

But this raises an interesting question, why did you get a GED?

PS: No, I didn't think that somebody in your family died and left you money. Thats a pretty morbid thing to think. Again this goes back to the general discussion of dropping out. Very few that dropped out were counting on a family member dropping dead and getting their money. I've told my family to spend every cent before they die, they earned, I don't want it.

Born and raised in the south here, and NCSU has a point. Look man it's great that you're stable, got your GED, and are working/supporting a family, but you could have had a much greater opportunity had you stayed in school. I knew several girls back in high school that got knocked up but still stuck it out and graduated. I couldn't tell you where they are now, I left my hometown the quickest chance I got to go to UCF here in Orlando. But the point is, you can have a kid and still go to school, take night classes, etc. Hell you don't even have to do it now, do it a few years from now, but go to school, get a degree from your local community college, and make something better of yourself. You may not regret it now, but I'll bet 10 or 15 years from now you might.
I just had to get that out there, because not all southerners are *** backwards and not all yankees are educated ******, everybody's different.
edit: and don't give the excuse you don't have money for school. That's bull****. I'm in a fraternity here in Orlando, and some of the brothers are broke as ****, don't receive ANY help from parents, yet manage to pay for school, rent (which aint cheap here), fraternity dues, and bar tabs. You've just got to determine what means the most to you and budget wisely. The rest can come from student loans, the government, and any number of financial aids.
