Aman12, was that post directed at me? I am in the same situation we're not rich either but I dont have as good a Job as you and dont make that much money but I make enough. I hated having my parents pay half but it was the only way. They had the money at the time and the truck was only 5000. I would like to make more money and even get something better but I cant. I have money saved for college and I do think of my future thats why I got a truck thats going to last me atleast five years. By that time I should have a better job and be able to pay for a new truck. Im sorry you opinion is so narrow minded.

Tom

my parents work there a$$es of to pay for our house, and raise 4 kids, there is no way i would expect my parents to help me buy a vehicle.

man, could they not afford an education for you?

Great respect

I've only read a couple of these pages and am proud of most of wat i read. its great to here of younger people to sacrifice a truck for their education. I could tell you stories about the dinosaurs' <i know you don't want to hear em.> Not everyone was fortunate enough to live in Boca Raton

im 18 yrs old and just graduated 2007. bought a single cab short bed 2002 f150xl 4.6. i bought it after my junior year with the help of my dad...the help being that i was under age and couldnt buy it myself at the dealership. im still paying for it. owe about 4500 out of the 12000 after tax. i pay for all my mods, and repairs. i do most of my repairs myself or with help from my dad. just paid for my second set of tires. first ones were 33" buckshots, after i put a 3" body lift i just bought 35" mtz's. bought 4.56's, 16x10 procomp alloys, cd, amp, sub, cb, back up lights, train horn, and few other smaller items. unfortunently stuff does break and i pay for those. i like to have fun in the woods, but im smart about what i do. i watch friends tear their chit up and a week later im giving them rides everywhere. i keep everything as clean as i can because if you dont...it will cost you. im currently graduated and going to college on a scholarship, scholarship=free school=more money towards my truck!!!

I don't think those 16x10s are going to clear the calipers.

Im 17 and a senior in high school and I have an 05 F150 XLT 2wd. Parents pay half. Ive put on all the extras and paid for em myself and i treat it as if it were still brand new off the lot. Im about to level it out in the front and put some 33" tires on it to beef it up.
