Lol. I love threads like this. Not trying to be a sh*t stirrer, or anything of the sorts, but you guys are funny and great at the same time. It is really only funny in a sense that I am older than most of you and am therefore am able to distinguish your search for peer security to the actual pride that you are unknowingly exhibiting. It is this "pride" that you posses, whether it be from paying your insurance, gas, actual vehicle payment, or McDonalds bill, etc., that is not so much encouraging, but rather an incentive... You show that young men/women these days still actually care, regardless of your bearings, be it a rich family or a "ghetto" as the first poster stated. Most of you posters in this thread are emitting a sense of accomplishment, and I have confidence that you will achieve that. It may be tomorrow, or possibly in, what feels like, 100 years.... Keep it up guys; you are the ones who make "our" future.

By the way, nice trucks!!!!

I'm suprised what some high school students are driving. It wasn't long ago that I was in high school, and I thought I had a nice truck, but some of you guys have 10 times nicer then what I was driving in school. Seems like some students pay for their trucks, some pay a bit, and some pay none. Guess it all depends on your parents. My family has a fair bit of money, but my parents didn't want to pay for my first truck. They did help me out alot though, they let me use their car to get to work till I saved up enough to buy a vehicle of my own. I'm glad they made me pay for my own stuff, its helped me out if anything. And it started me working at a young age and kept me working as much as I could.

My first truck and high school ride was this...

Dang, where did you come up with 35,000 for your half? you must have had an *** kicking high school job. But then again, living in a 750,000$ dollar house, maybe they pay more where you live. i was making 3$ an hr when I was a kid working on a farm during the summer during hay season. How things have changed.

Congrats to all you young guys who have worked hard and earned what you have.

When my son get to your ages (he is only 1 on Christmas Eve) my plan is that I will pay for half of whatever he picks out and he will be responsible for the other half as well as holding at least a part time job to pay for maintenance and gas on his own.
i think having full or part ownership in a vehicle makes you appreciate it more.

Those aren't $750,000 houses... And if I would have saved my money, not bought my F-150, boat, F-250 and kept driving the (free) Grand Cherokee, I would have been able to pay for close to the same thing he did on the same half plan... :o

Yeah those houses are about $500,000 to $600,000... I know ours was in between there and ours isnt the biggest... There is a retired Browns player in our neighborhood... I cant seem to remember his name tho...

And the truck was $47k OTD... so I had to come up with 24k which I did by selling my lightning, and then the parents made me a deal by selling our old boat... So I did that too, granny threw in a little money, and I have been ebaying lately have about $8k off of ebay stuff... All I know is I am one lucky son of a gun, and my parents and grandma are the best! I am spoiled but I work my *** off... I play football in college and all through high school, while carrying a 3.8GPA, and my senior and junior year I built the deck on our house, and finished the basement... I never asked for one cent, I figured my parents appreciate it...

But yeah thats my life story... who cares right... I just didnt want someone coming on a writing about how spolied me and some of the other guys are on here and how we dont deserve the trucks we have...
